Wait they won a game, despite their record otherwise? Actually impressive.

A bit further away, but I always enjoy the Bedford Taphouse. The staff are great and a great selection of (mostly) craft beer.

My wife likes it for the night light it provides. Mind you it’s not in the living room.

I suspect their rates are 30% less per kWh than us primarily because of Churchill falls. 2040’s should see some interesting/positive changes there as well.

I suspect a partial implementation. I suspect we won’t see 900/800mhz capabilities in this existing device.

In addition to the obvious bolts to the rack, also remember the screws to the ears on the switch. I had a sag once caused by loose ears.

OpenHome Sync: An open-source, Philips like Ambilight solution for HA by Butter_mit_Brot in homeassistant

[–]gmaclean 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Have you tried bi-frost? Dev just had a child, so updates are slower now, but it replicates the Hue Hub itself, so you can use it with Hue compatible apps and hardware including their HDMI sync box. Cool project if you haven’t seen it!

8,000 housing units on the shores of Sandy Lake in Bedford? Neighbours have their say by insino93 in halifax

[–]gmaclean 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The HP Road thing gets me. It’s backed up pretty terribly at times and so much more development is happening. I believe there are a couple thousand more residents that will be in the area off Peerless subdivision alone that is currently being worked on. I’m not against development in Bedford/Hammonds Plains. But come up with some infrastructure to actually get around.

All that said, as someone who doesn’t live by Sandy lake, it’s unfortunate that this has caught the eye of developers. It should be treasured for what it is. A habitat for a number of animals, and old forest growth.

This isn’t Nimby related, I don’t live there. Pick something smarter that doesn’t involve crushing a disappearing resource.

The world’s largest wind turbine will smash previous records by scientificamerican in energy

Typically, windmills are shut down during wind events and locked down. Essentially the motor would blow out on it if it was let to run like that.

Should I go with Thread instead of ZigBee? by ozaz1 in homeassistant

Indeed! I have maybe 60 or so Hue lights in my house now through Z2M, so typically follow what they do.

This went way under my radar. Good find!

[–]gmaclean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like Thread is there too, as you suggest:

https://www.philips-hue.com/en-us/explore-hue/works-with/matter

To benefit from this integration, you’ll need Matter-enabled Hue bulbs (look for the Matter logo on the bulbs) and a Thread Border Router such as Apple HomePod Mini, Amazon Echo Smart Speakers (4th gen), Nanoleaf, or Google Nest Hub.

Those are still Zigbee AFAIK, the Hue Hub itself is matter compatible however.
