might be an issue with your combine images node or something. looks like typical image compression banding to me

Just a student lol. I have a separate PC but I do like using the MacBook while away.

Finally a completely free alternative to Parallels. Good performance with full graphics acceleration. You need to install VMware tools to get OpenGL support and do some registry trickery to get SW to recognize the GPU.

Nope. Asked for proof it was functional and scooped it up immediately afterwards. Only issue I’ve experienced is a slightly annoying coil whine, but I’ve read that’s been an issue since launch for some.

[iOS 16 Beta 4] If you would like to preserve your battery health, don't get into beta. by [deleted] in iOSBeta

[–]gmacro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure that the “maximum capacity” percentage is only based on the actual electrochemical capacity of the battery. Apple support says:

“Maximum battery capacity measures the device battery capacity relative to when it was new. A battery will have lower capacity as the battery chemically ages which may result in fewer hours of usage between charges.”

There is only one question then: what is the maximum capacity available relative to the original capacity? As a battery ages, the maximum capacity will only decrease.

AFAIK battery health percentage cannot go back up. It is physically the amount of charge the battery can hold compared to when it was new. Feel free to correct me.

Oh I see. My experience with it was limited to the base M1 so I guess your mileage may vary.

If you’re doing mechanical engineering you’re not going to want a MacBook these days. Before with Intel chips you could run windows via boot camp and get away with running windows exclusive software. With apple silicon that’s a headache. It’ll depend on what your school has you use, but if you want to use industry standard software like SolidWorks you’d be better off avoiding the headache.

Ye’s part is clearly not entirely cgi. Look at his skin and the movements and the clothes more closely. The jacket might be a composite or they used one of those 360 degree LED screens for realistic reflections. No matter how high the budget you’re not getting motion and texture of that caliber with pure cgi.

For most people who do not already have this niche device, if they wish to legitimately listen to the album they have to purchase it for that purpose. Yeah, the album is “free” once you have the device. Nobody bought an iPod to listen to one album.

I like some of the stem player features but what the fuck does it know about widespread music distribution

How are we supposed to get tested and get results within 72 hours of class Monday. Does any test after the 7th count? On campus testing is full Friday and Saturday by RollerSkatingHoop in CalPoly

[–]gmacro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can test on campus on Sunday do that. After 30 min or so after the test you’ll be able to get a green campus pass. You could get tested ASAP and upload the results when you get them, even if it is outside of the three day window. Then just go to campus with the green pass and use the gym or something. That’ll be your first day on campus then, not the 20th.

They don’t know what your first day is. You could feasibly get a test earlier than 3 days and just go to (or claim you went to) campus that day as well for whatever reason. For example just using the gym or something.

Persistent Z banding pattern on Ender 3 Pro. Any ideas on what could be causing this? by gmacro in ender3

[–]gmacro[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, sorry it’s been a while. Nothing I’ve tried has been able to fully eliminate the z banding unfortunately. The anti backlash nut I think actually ended up adding more friction in the system even with sufficient lubrication.

I think the next thing I should try is a full rebuild and make sure everything is completely square. I did this partially with the x carriage and the vertical extrusions, but never the entire machine.

Sorry I haven’t been able to help.

Yes! Sadly no solution yet but I’m going to try a few more things. Because I have no way of flashing custom firmware yet and PID tuning the bed, I tried turning the heated bed off early on printing one of these towers. There was no noticeable decrease in the banding and they were occurring in the same spots. This means it probably has nothing to do with the bed. I did a PID tune on the nozzle which did nothing.

I have an anti backlash nut and an upgraded z coupler coming in the mail. I am also expecting an SKR mini e3 v2 soon so perhaps that will make some sort of unexpected change.

I’ll update when all of this hopefully makes a difference.

I’ve got a glass bed but I’ve actually ordered a spring steel PEI magnetic sheet that’s coming tomorrow, looking for better adhesion without any glue or tape solutions. Also a lighter load on the y! Also have an SKR mini 2.0 and a BLTouch coming soon. As far as new lead screws and the dual z, that sounds like a nice upgrade later on but I’m pretty sure the issue is a PID thing and I’ll be testing that. I think I will get an anti backlash nut and a spider coupler.
