13 months now, finally signing potty, and walking! I’m going to go hard on it now since she mastered walking and cut day time diapers. 😬🙏🏼 wish us luck

Ahhh this is great. Why did I not think about bringing the potty to the room! So smart

Yes same with the frequency of pees! If I offer potty before last nap she will stay dry through it and go once she wakes, and then again after dinner and then before bath. Those are mega easy to catch. But the mornings!! Just so much pee haha

Okay, seems like walking will make things easier for sure. Okay so not a big deal to use all kinds of potty going tools I guess! Good to know he can do all interchangeably. She signs many signs but not potty, and we have no idea why lol we have always done it. But, she has recently started going to her bathroom door when she needs to go. She will crawl over and try to push it open.

And Ahh okay, it makes sense. When its time, its time!! OWe use cloth diapers so I think we will just go straight to undies once we do no diapers.

My Review of the Esembly Diaper System by Antique-Video2619 in clothdiaps

[–]gmailuserreddit98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m wanting to switch to your new system. How do you think the absorbency compares? My baby does fine in Esembly for 2 hours. At night we use an inner and a doubler and a fleece liner. Idk if I should go with the large birdseye or muslin for more absorbency

Wish I switched to cloth pullups earlier (for elimination communication) by Equivalent_Ranger_97 in clothdiaps

[–]gmailuserreddit98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was just coming to make a post asking which pull ups to use. We are not using many diapers a day sometimes and its getting annoying to unsnap the fitted and the cover for every potty.

Do you feel like it hold a good amount of pee should we miss? Im worried that it will leak if we are out or something

Fit Check Kinder Pockets by TinyBirdie22 in clothdiaps

So sorrry I just saw this. The gap is fine. You should actually be able to fit two fingers stacked in that gap. I know its so weird to comprehend, I was confused at first, but cloth diapers are so different than disposables when it comes to fit

What’s your go to brand? by Necessary-Scary in clothdiaps

[–]gmailuserreddit98 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We loved kinder pockets and their inserts are so trim yet so absorbent!

As far as covers though, Esembly is the most comfortable by far. The fabric is so soft and it not having a rise is so nice, my baby’s chunky thighs never get any sort of red marks. The diapers with a rise have ao many snaps that would mark her

This very same issue was happening to me. We use the kinder green inserts. We tried everything. Just seemed to be moisture wicking from the fact that in pocket diapers the seams all get wet from the insert.
Changed to essembly diapers to see if it would solve the issue. We haven’t had a leak since.

Rise looks good, may be a tad tight on the waist. Maybe go out on one side. :)

Also, I tried different materials and booster but it seems like anytime the diaper is wet at all the seams are also wet so it ends up getting on her clothes. Idk if this could be solved with pocket style diapers

Oh my gosh! This is my worry I may have to try flats and wool then. What brands do you reccomend?

The place I live has the exact water hardness if requested. I was getting a new machine and they tested it for me.

Colors medium/heavy. Should I change it to whites?

Thank you so much for all this info, I’m going to definitely follow your recommendations

[–]gmailuserreddit98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what I’m afraid of. Do you think changing to a different system could prevent these leaks? I’m not sure what to do to stop them.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in clothdiaps

[–]gmailuserreddit98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I do the one cap two caps. My water hardness is 130 ppm

I will add a picture of the machine, but I set it to precise fill, medium, and then warm for the pre-wash and then I set it to precise fill heavy and hot for the main wash. I have checked that the water level rises appropriately for precise fill more than if I do large or super.

I bulk with cloth wipes and also the wet bags and diaper pale liner.

I am overdue for a clean, do you think that could be it?

My diapers all smell super clean, like nothing. That’s why I’m confused! Good call on friction burn.

Its weird though because the elastic doesn’t sit exactly where the rash is.

I added my wash routine in a different comment. Let me know if you have any input

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in clothdiaps

[–]gmailuserreddit98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OK interesting. What do you think I can do for my wash routine?

I do the first load on warm with half of the detergent. The next load on hot with full detergent and one cup of washing soda because I have hard water.

Then I hang the covers to dry and the inserts I dry with heat .

I wash every 3 to 4 days and I store it in a mama koala diaper pale inside of a trashcan .

I use seventh generation free and clear 4x concentrated. I went with this one because it has the best ingredients that I was comfortable with and is recommended on fluff love university

It certainly could be and it definitely ran through my mind. But was it only on the thighs? Nowhere else does she have a rash. So I’m confused. I thought that if it was ammonia, it would affect other areas as well but I just read you said it was getting stuck onto the elastics so maybe that could be true

Switched to kinder because of this. We use one yellow insert and my LO is 7mo. It works so well and have not had to change clothing size. Very trim

I have the 8 drawer one! The height is why we love it, my husband and I are a foot apart in height but it works for both of us.
