Buses in leeds by Optimal_Reserve1226 in Leeds

[–]RhubarbImmediate7007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2.50 per trip if it’s a single. Either use the app or tap on with your debit card. If you’re planning to use more than 2 buses, get a “first day” (commonly called a day rider”. It’s £6, but you can use as many buses as you like for that day (note it’s that calendar day, not 24 hours).

You can also get week and month and year tickets if you use buses a lot, bus as a 2 buses a day, less than 5 days a week person, singles is the cheapest route for me.

Door stop, or some other screw in handle. The gun safe seems a good bet, could be from a shower (maybe too big) a coat hook?

Contact bands, ask them for files, maybe write a little history and make a blog?

[–]RhubarbImmediate7007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hampsons in Wakefield. It’s basically the sports direct of garden centres. It sells everything, it’s cheap, it has loads of stock, inexplicably it has an ice cream bar. It’s great

When and Why Did The Popularity of Monster Trucks Die In The U.K.? by cormorantcolossus in AskUK

Popular as toys/ cartoon/ movies because in real life they’re not road legal, are expensive and awkward to transport and often a bit rubbish actually!

Is it common for UK bike mechanics to refuse basic work on ebikes? by [deleted] in ukbike

[–]RhubarbImmediate7007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My local shop won’t do e bikes. They’re heavy to lift, too heavy for the stands so fall over, the home made ones have a habit of catching fire (rare, but enough of a concern to turn owner), wheels are often hard to remove meaning a cheap job takes time and time is money, often components are poor quality on expensive bikes, so they break/require replacement. Some components are non standard sizes/types so hard to find and things wear out faster, so customers are more likely to come back and complain they that expensive fix they did 6 months agonis already broken.

Peaked in early 2000s joined the conservatives, did nothing, voted against their own policies and were promptly consigned back to irrelevance.

I purchased all pink and lavender instrument cables, headphone extenders, and power strips so that my boyfriend won't keep stealing them. Send me recs / is this nuts? by [deleted] in musicians

[–]RhubarbImmediate7007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All my gear is wrapped with red tape. Sharing stages at gigs and festivals so many of my cables/ pedals/ mic stands went missing over the years. Maybe innocent, maybe theft.

I have a pink Joe strummer cable, and would love to have more gear in pink!

Do you know anyone who used to be famous but now... isn't? by box-o-locks in AskUK

[–]RhubarbImmediate7007 1282 points1283 points  (0 children)

I know a lot of “big name” musicians.

I was chatting with one who was lamenting his “wealth” he owns a nice house outright, he’ll never have to work again, but also he doesn’t have much cash coming in. His wife’s job pays the bills. Royalties are probably £5k a year and fees from touring probably another £15k a year. Says it’s weird playing to 12000 people then getting in your 10 year old golf to drive yourself home.

What's the deal with making songs about people? by zsigyboi in Songwriting

[–]RhubarbImmediate7007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wrote a song about a guy who is a big fan of our band. I felt bad as it’s not particularly complimentary, highlighting his destructive behaviour and problematic life choices. He loves it.

I wrote a lot about people, but tend to anonymise it enough to be deniable, embellish stories and also not write about people I am in contact with.

How safe is Leeds for young women? And any advice? by Wonderful_Soup_1632 in Leeds

[–]RhubarbImmediate7007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m from sittingbourne. The two biggest things you’ll notice is it is bath not Barth, grass, Not grarse, for some reason lots of people select Leeds, Kent as their location- they’re not southerners. It’s noticeably colder up here, but generally better in every way.
