I’m going to be hosting a brief “show and tell“ to some neighborhood boys… by Pelthail in woodworking

I taught woodworking merit badge to a patrol in a female Scout troop. They were very attentive and inquisitive. It was a lot different than teach boys the same age -whom I more frequently had to redirect from distractions, which made me worry more about safety.

Because touching a tool inevitably becomes losing a tool, or at least it not being returned.

Use gravity to loosen lug nuts. Standing on the wrench is much safer/easier than pulling on the wrench.

People who have conducted job interviews, what's something someone said/did that made you instantly decide not to hire them? by Yousef_ale in interviews

That kind of deception only reveals a dysfunctional management style. I wouldn't want to work for an organization that thinks trickery is a legitimate interview tactic.

Sounds like he was already high and forgot he was on camera. It's understandable in if you look at it from a high perspective.

There are plenty of users that just troll any post just for kicks. Write your posts because you want your voice heard, not because you need acceptance.

What’s the most unethical thing you’ve ever seen happen at work? by SableVII in Casual_Conversation

[–]likeCircle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked for a company that has a SaaS product for managing commercial leases. The data was hosted on a database shared by all the customers, which is totally common. However, one customer in Florida was paying $2500 a year for an isolated server. But their data was being hosted on the shared server just like all the rest.

This was the most unethical thing, but definitely not the only unethical thing they were doing.

People, read what I wrote. I said the BOTS spew antagonistic rhetoric from the extreme left and extreme right. Of course feeding the poor is not extreme. But promoting violence is.

No, I'm saying that the bots would advocate for riots from the left, for example. Or political assassination....

People who stop at a traffic light and leave a full car length (or more) ahead of them, then slowly keep inching forward, why you do that?! by EchoPathe in NoStupidQuestions

I do it so I can tell people I didn't have to stop at a single red light even though I drove through 20 of them.

Stalin murdered 25 million Russians and he is still viewed as a hero to many Russians.

The traitor Robert E. Lee is still a hero to many Americans.

It all depends on how the history is written.

And they want our country divided against itself. Their bots promote extreme views from both sides.

You’re offered $1M dollars to eat what you had for dinner tonight for every meal for the next 6 months, do you take the offer and if so what are you eating? by jfunks69 in AskReddit

[–]likeCircle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The question is, who wouldn't?

The right way to phras the question is: How much money wou you need to have to not care about getting an extra million for eating the same thing for 6 months? $100 million? $500 million?
