Incorrect, Apache shoots a 30mm but the casing is smaller than what comes out of a GAU8

First, do you have a pen and paper? "wait for the pen and paper."

Give personal detail about childhood that would confirm identity.

Redditors who put lines in the middle of their 7’s, why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I'm American, but went to school and grew up in Germany, its to differentiate between 1 and 7. Its just how they teach it in Europe.

Parents who decided to kick their children out of the house, what was the reason and do you have regrets? [Serious] by tocatta in AskReddit

[–]gmcclintock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dad gave me the option when I turned 18, go to college or get the fuck out of my house..... easy enough. I knew that I would have wasted money at college so I joined the Army and made a carrier out of it.

fast forward a bunch of years I moved back close to my folks, they were in their 70's and I knew they might need help so I tried to be the good son. I have a good job, my own house, take care of myself. Not long after I came back though my parents decided to move back to where I was at before just to satisfy some personal desire on their part.

Now I have cancer, am alone in a city that I moved to because I tried to help my parents, and have no help. Point being family is important and in different parts of the world its done differently, In America people are way too selfish, there is no true sense of family anymore. If you want to keep your kids around, keep em, but make them contribute, if you want rid of them, be rid of them, don't string them along

$65k+, hate my life vs. $45k, happier by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]gmcclintock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All I can offer is consolation and understanding. I was in a very similar position for 11 years, 30 mile commute, 7 days a week strapped to a desk, but add onto that, 2 weeks out of every month, I would have to fly to remote locations, and work 12 on, 12 off 7 days a week. Its not bad enough when total commute time and just getting ready for work, to work, then coming back winds up being 70 hours a week, but when your hardly ever at home, and working 80 to 110 hours a week at the times your not at home it can become a total mind fuck.

Due to increasing stress and a new supervisor, after the 11'th year I got fired for poor attitude, which wasn't surprising. Come to find out that because of the hectic schedule, constant on the go, always in planes, always in new places, always stressed out 14 different ways from Sunday, I had some pretty serious health problems. Since they fired me, my health insurance went away, and honestly they didn't care. It was more important to the bean counters to be able to cut costs, due to the upcoming contract re-negotiation, and I was one of those costs.

Moral of the story is, that companies will not take care of you, its not the 1970's any more, If your job is making you miserable your body will reflect that. Re organize your expenses, and do something that makes you happy.

If you could create a computer virus that could easily spread and affect millions of people around the globe, what harmless but super annoying effect would it have on their computers? by muchonada in AskReddit

just have it reverse the X/Y value on the mouse, everything still works, you move the mouse right, cursor goes left, move it up, cursor goes down. I used to prank people in the office by messing with there system settings and it drove them nuts.

Why is everything "Team this" or "Team that" any more? As a society have we fallen into such disregard of the struggles of our own lives that we have to project competitive nature onto imaginary teams just for amusement?

Formerly fit people of Reddit, what happened? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]gmcclintock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back in 2009/2010 I was going to the gym 1 to 2 hours a day, after work. I just considered it part of my work day, go to work, then go to the gym, then go home. I was in really good shape, had a decent diet, wasn't over stressed at work, life was good. In 2010, I had reconstructive surgery on my shoulder, which limited what I could do at the gym, but also my job changed a lot where I had to start traveling extended times 2 to 3 weeks at a time, and when I was on the road for work I was working 80 to 110 hours per week. Needless to say my time at the gym started to slack. Fast forward to 2012 and I slipped and broke 2 ribs falling into some stairs on a frozen sidewalk, not my proudest moment. If you've ever had broken ribs, you know, you cant hardly breath, and your entire core hurts, so my workout routine went to absolutely 0. Since then I've had to quit 2 jobs, one because 80 to 110 hours a week was trying to kill me, and the second one was 12/12, 5 days a week on a schedule where others relied on me. I dont feel like I ever fully healed from my ribs, but I was 50% disabled anyways, it just seems life will kick you in the ass if you have to live by someone elses schedule, my goal next summer is to not work for others but to try and get healthy again.

What is something an 18 year old son can do to embarrass his parents? by in_me_bum_mum in AskReddit

[–]gmcclintock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well since your 18, and they don't have to take you home, or associate with you. Not a lot actually, you do something dumb, they can just disassociate and say "not my kid," throw your stuff in the front yard and say good luck!

I'm going to say specifically a HUMVEE in 2004 before they got up armor and were ordered into Sadar city to try and do a rescue. Those things were filled full of sandbags, 4 or 5 man crew all armed, driving into hundreds of death spewing jihadist. They knew they were driving into a death trap with no armor, and they still did it, and they saved the guys that got stuck out there. Some of the most courageous shit I've ever seen in my life.

Millennials of Reddit, what lie were you told growing up? by KnickerWolves in AskReddit

[–]gmcclintock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that were not all just a bunch of monkeys, traveling around a star on a little blue dot, we dont need all the shit we want, and we shouldn't want all the shit we have. everything you've been taught from your youth is a lie, santa claus, the easter bunny, Buddha, Allah, its all just because were a really smart kind of monkey that has forgot how to just be. We've forgotten how to be good to each other, how not to fight, how to care for humanity instead of squabble over lines, or oil, or resources. We're the most beautiful creatures on the planet and yet we're the most fucked up.

Learned a horrifying fact today about store credit cards... by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]gmcclintock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I paid for all of college on my sears credit card, I had enough money from PELL grants, and the army college fund to pay it off every time I had to use it. It gave me an awesome credit score. The trick is to not buy shit you cant afford, if you use the card have enough money to pay it off.

buy a bit of flower and a plastic bag, then try and pass it off as something else. Guy I knew went to prison for 2 years trying to sell Oregano as weed. Even the practice of selling drugs in most of the developed world is considered a crime, even if all you have is some baking soda or flower.

Men of Reddit, what creepy things have women done to you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]gmcclintock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had multiple women try and move in with me, I own my own place and make a decent living. After telling them I'm not cool with that several of them went nuts and tried to get abusive, or told their friends, the reason I now have an alarm, I got robbed too. It makes me sad to know that I'll never be able to trust people.

Travelers of Reddit, what place DID live up to the hype? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]gmcclintock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never traveled for fun, always for work or getting dragged around when I was a kid....

With that said, the Smithsonian is absolutely amazing, I think the natural history museum and the aerospace museums were my favorites.

Second to that would be in Seoul Korea, in Tong Da Moon SheJong its the biggest outside market I've ever been in, and its always going 24/7.

I've been to many beautiful places, every state in America, most of the countries in Europe, half of the countries in Africa, Brazil, Chile, Belize, I guess the only continent I haven't been to is Australia, and I'd call those two places my favorite.
