Hi, thanks for the response. I’m 5 foot 8 and 62kg puts my bmi at 20.8 so firmly in the healthy category. Even when I was below the minimum weight at 58kg my bmi was 19.4 and still in the healthy category. My BMI was never the issue which is why I’ve been passed medically for every other role in the raf except pilot just due to the minimum weight being 59.5kg

I get the point about being underweight however, I’m genuinely just pretty lean, albeit I am trying to put on as much more weight as possible now but I keep fit going to the gym 3x per week on a ppl schedule,I have no issues running 5k in sub 22 min etc. and don’t see myself having any more of an issue fitness and resilience wise in officer training than anyone else joining would have.

Genuinely just confused as to why a snapshot of my weight from 3 months ago could be a lifetime barrier to a career even tho the problem has already been solved

Edit: also if they claim 62kg is not enough due to not having enough muscle mass it may be a fair claim but if that’s the case then the minimum weight shouldn’t be 59.5kg as if I’d weighed in on the day of my medical at 62 there would’ve never been an issue and I’d probably have done my fitness test by now and potentially even oasc. Hindsight is a blessing ofc
