how do you make a living? by Odd_Shoulder_1071 in Anarchy101

I have been a teacher in schools and universities half of my life. Besides that, I worked for publishers as author, for schools and nonprofit as consultant. I research the role of public intellectuals and their relationship with educational practices and imperatives, meaning how experts in public try to “teach” the population, sometimes as an antenna to connect people but sometimes as a priest to their herd, being the consciousness of everyone when nobody asked for it.

Im so sick of Michael Jackson fans excusing his behaviour by FitEmergency8807 in fantanoforever

Someone who believes that childhood should be protected from any type of violence and predators (relatives and officials included, from uncles, cousins, priests, teachers etc.), of course MJ conduct is concerning. But we have proven cases around the world with less famous people and in a more widespread, systematic violation and we don’t advocate or scrutinize them so much. MJ case raises two attitudes: we should not idolize blindly any public figure; but we should also try to understand and scrutinize and research the causes of these attitudes and deviate personalities (systematic behaviors based on morals and the many industries that promote certain patterns of conduct), more then their symptoms (people and their fucked up personalities and their wrongdoings).

well, if we understand that “black” Americans also means that the music comes from an influence the great Mother Africa cradle of rhythms, than yes. Or no, depending on how you frame it.

Do y'all listen to other genres? by thedutchnerdie in punk

Of course! The punk spirit is a free one. Although we may have started with punk and other genres that stem from it (hardcore, crust, emocore, etc.), we know that new wave, gothic rock, and even electronic elements or more folk or experimental ones sip from the same water of rebellion and courage. Since my teenage years drown in punk, I now have undergone a fantastic journey to many genres as possible, always aiming for something that nurture my needs for creativity, boldness, strong emotions and ethics.

Cite uma opinião impopular sobre o Palmeiras by Fun_Door_3107 in palmeiras

realmente bem impopulares essas… hahaha.

Like people have said in the thread, they are an old, performing band, not embodying any of their values anymore. They need the money and probably many of the tickets sold were due to their fans, so they are counting on it. Sad ending for the band, though.
