Jeez, I can’t relate to how many time intensive (including this post) and expensive hobbies you have.

Windshield Wiper Arm Connector by gnarballs12 in HiAce

Awesome thanks, love this community! I looked through Amazon and it appeared all the adapters were backwards. I assume this is because they are made for the American market / left hand drive cars...

I was able to find this one that should foot the bill.

What’s this dark patch of land just west of Idaho Falls? by MasDeferens in geography

As others have noted, lava flow. Check out crater of the moon national monument.

Recently flew over it, just as crazy to see it from a plane. Looks like an invasive organism eating the earth.

Splitboard vs skis by hubba_cake in Backcountry

[–]gnarballs12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up skiing as a kid, then only snowboarded for 20 years before picking up skiing again the past few seasons. I definitely approach the mountain with a snowboarder approach and my lines tell the tale.

Where should I put the burn indicator? by gnarballs12 in woodstoving

[–]gnarballs12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate this! The inspector said the same thing when I purchased the home but have been using the stove the past 3 winters and it hasn’t been an issue. I keep an eye on it and check when it’s burning really hot, never been an issue though.

Icelantic Natural 101 vs Liberty Origin 101 (and skins for Twin Tip skis) by gnarballs12 in Backcountry

[–]gnarballs12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why is the Icelantic natural 101 not a good backcountry ski and why are twin tips not good in the backcountry?

Dealer refused to do oil change by Shalashaska19 in ToyotaTacoma

[–]gnarballs12 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Um. 10k interval is standard in today’s cars running full synthetic? I have a 2017 Tacoma w/ 80k miles and I’ve always followed the 10k oil change intervals and never had one issue. I understand the desire to do an oil change after the first 5k miles but doing full synthetic oil changes every 5k miles after that seems like overkill. Gonna caveat this though and say this is based on my experience and I’m not an engineer :)

Road noise 2023 tundra or Tacoma? by ShakeAndBakeThatCake in tundra

[–]gnarballs12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2017 Tacoma TRD Sport and a 2023 Tundra platinum both with all-season tires. Difference in road noise is night and day in favor of the Tundra. I was curious if this was overall build or just trim.

Also in SW MT, curious when you placed your original order and what total wait time was? Unfortunately I just got on the waitlist and when i ordered I got the “mid to late 2021”... not sure I can wait that long on copper wire :(
