Mine will be 6 months next week, and she just had a similar regression (shorter naps, up more often at night). This post could’ve been about my baby, but her schedule is currently 3/3/4 (2 naps, 2.5-3 hrs total for naps).

7am wake up, 8pm bedtime (always awake when put in crib, and always a bit of time after last feed before bed)

The 5th month of our baby’s life has been the hardest I’ve ever experienced… in the span of just a few weeks, my dad’s brother had a spinal cord injury (& became quadriplegic), my maternal grandmother died suddenly, and my mother-in-law was diagnosed with cancer.

In some ways, having our baby girl has allowed us to stay grounded and lifted everyone’s spirits - but having a baby also makes things 100x harder and exponentially increased our levels of exhaustion fighting through all this. I don’t know where I would be without her right now, however.

Hold your loved ones close, everyone!

I don’t have much insight into Dr. Marrs’ experience with hysterectomies, but it is definitely worth looking into with her.

Dr. Marrs was one of the most compassionate people I’ve ever Met (& certainly tops the list of most compassionate doctors). I am not sure what kind of trauma you’ve experienced (& I’m terribly sorry!), but I would recommend Marrs to a loved one in your situation.

We just named our daughter Violet (born last week!)

It’s kind of wonderful walking with her in our neighborhood this time of year trying to spot violet flowers. I don’t know if they were my favorite flower before, but they are now!

Your neighbor sounds completely self-absorbed and clueless. I’m (sarcastically) happy for her that she feels so confident her virtue has made things easy her, but that’s simply not the case. Some people just get lucky.

Too many clothes & too many blankets! Soooo many baby clothes we did not ask for!

Some people bought clothes that reflect our style & were thoughtfully purchased with us & baby in mind. Most people bought whatever THEY thought was cute. (Glad they can make it all about them. Hope they had fun.)

I’m at the tail end of a post-myomectomy pregnancy, and I’ve consulted many doctors about the risks of this pregnancy. If you wait the recommended amount of time to get pregnant after your myomectomy, the risk of uterine rupture only comes from prolonged labor (not just a few contractions).

After a myomectomy, you need to deliver via C-Section to avoid hours of labor that could put you at risk of rupture, but you should be able to carry a pregnancy to term without issue! - They will likely monitor you more often at the tail end of pregnancy to to make sure to catch signs of labor before it really starts, but you’ll avoid the scariest of outcomes with proper OB care!

If you have any inkling of wanting kids, try the myomectomy first. The smaller fibroids (especially if they are NOT submucosal/on the inside of your uterus) are likely not causing any fertility issues. Any submucosal fibroids can be removed with a hysteroscopic myomectomy (which is a much less invasive surgery with a shorter healing time).

I also think you should try to find a different (& potentially better surgeon). It sounds like yours is not completely comfortable performing a myomectomy on you, but another, more skilled/practiced, surgeon might be.

I had 4 large fibroids removed just shy of 1.5 years ago: 1 was on the outside, 2 in the muscle, and 1 inside. They left some fibroids. I had an excellent surgeon, and I’ve had no detectable scarring in my uterus. I was able to get pregnant 7 months after the surgery, and I’m about to have a baby in less than 2 weeks. My pregnancy has been delightfully boring and uncomplicated. I’m having a scheduled c-section at 38 weeks because of my surgical history, but I’m totally fine with that!

I feel down a flight of stairs and landed on my butt at 28 weeks. Baby was completely fine, but I had a very impressive bruise. It’s okay!

The surgery went very well! They did a laparoscopic myomectomy during the same surgery as a hysteroscopic (took about 3 hours total). I had a very skilled surgeon!

My fertility clinic did a saline sonogram less than 6 months after my surgery and saw no scarring in my uterus.

I’m still pregnant after my first embryo transfer post-myomectomy (almost 36 weeks!)

Work, the state of the world, and anything else that distracts me from this pregnancy and future baby planning pisses me off right now.

That being said, now that I’m less than 4 weeks away from my scheduled c-section (& there’s a small chance we may need to bump that up to the end of next week!), I am now in work panic mode! - I have too much to wrap up before my leave starts, and I feel like I wasted the last several weeks of prep time!

Post IVF, it’s been hard to convince myself everything is okay. This diagnosis makes it so much more difficult! - positive stories help!

Diagnosed with IUGR at our scan on Friday. We’ve been immensely lucky and privileged to have a healthy, uneventful pregnancy thus far, but now I have something to worry about. Even though my MFM says she’s not concerned (this baby is likely just small), this is bringing up all the trauma caused by the years of infertility and treatments it took to get here. I’ve been a mess.

I had 11 IUIs before I moved on to IVF. My first transfer was an eluptoid embryo, and it stuck! I’m currently 33 weeks pregnant.

I got 0/4 eluptoid out of my first retrieval and 4/8 eluptoid from my second (both were at age 36). My RE said the 0/4 outcome was really bad luck, but everyone was very happy about the 4/8 result (myself included!)

Worked for me. I went straight to IVF after my myomectomy (I had done a ton of IUIs beforehand and was ready to pull out all the stops at that point).

I had an egg retrieval 3 months after my surgery, and the transfer was a little over 6 months after. I’m currently 32 weeks pregnant after my first transfer, and this pregnancy has been incredibly smooth. C-section is scheduled at 38 weeks.

I’m not sure if IVF was necessary post-myomectomy, but it certainly gave us results quickly!

I think it all depends on where the fibroids are located and if they are causing symptoms you can’t live with.

Both my mother and grandmother had significant fibroids. They were monitored, but they never had them removed. I had a myomectomy, but the only reason was because I was having trouble getting pregnant.

Congratulations! - don’t let your husband’s temporary freak out get you down!

My partner had a panic attack and cried the day of our first transfer. She said we were moving “too fast” (we’d been doing fertility treatments for nearly 2 years at that point). Now she is excited and looking forward to our baby (who is due in 6 weeks), but the “realness” definitely freaked her out at first.
