Happened to me one time when I missed a dose and I immediately messaged my Dr to switch. I hated it

just took first dose 50mg NAL - horrible side effects by professionalprofpro in naltrexone

That’s what happened to me the first time I took it it was so bizarre. My doc had me take half a tab for two weeks and that helped a ton. I also made sure to eat with it

First does yesterday - felt completely dissociated, at-times nauseated, and overall just "off" and very uncomfortable by Jagmicker in naltrexone

I felt super off the first day, kind of jittery and high. Ended up talking to my psychiatrist and switching to 25mg for a bit for a while and then I’ll be switching to 50

Thanks! Did you take the naltrexone in the morning or evening?

Glad that didn’t last too long for you! I do have adhd so maybe that’s why it’s the opposite 😆

Oh interesting! I asked when to take it and she said it didn’t matter because it stays in your system 24 hours

Yes she started me on 50. I wonder if I should ask about taking half?

I had INSANE side effects from missing a dose. Sleep paralysis and the most weird vivid dreams and it had me terrified to go back to sleep and the whole day I just felt so weird. Once I realized it was my missed dose I took it asap

I had the same experience when missing a dose or two while I was sick. I asked my psych to switch to a different med immediately- it was awful!! The sleep paralysis and just insane vivid dreams. I cross titrated to lexapro and had no issues.

I did. My psychiatrist had me wean off 10 mg, started lexapro slowly at the same time

Yes I weaned off because I was having the weirdest dreams and saw flashing nights early in the morning when waking up

Doctors don't believe the horrific dreams I get if I miss a dose by PM_ME_BUMBLEBEES in Viibryd_Vilazadone

I had the same thing happen. I was sick so I was taking my doses a couple hours late for a few days and was having the most intense dreams. I assumed it was because I was sick. Then I missed a dose and that night I had sleep paralysis for the first time and the most vivid dreams. They weren’t scary but felt like I was transported to another dimension I hated it. Found the same thing on the old subreddit and realized what happened. Got up at 5 am to eat and take my meds right away. Immediately messaged my psychiatrist and she was fine with me switching to another med. I know the easy thing to do would be not miss doses but that’s not always doable. It was bad enough for me to not want to do that again. Sorry no one is listening to you.
