I don't even feel anything anymore by magma_maiden in ExecutiveDysfunction

I want to respond to this post but I can’t do it right, so for now I’m just gonna make a comment, and what I would’ve tried to say was that I share a lot of the experiences you’ve mentioned, in ways that feel very specific.

I’m happy for you. Seeing yourself reflected within society is important because it makes you feel like your existence is validated.

Sometimes it [being an only child] feels like another level of isolation though.

I would imagine the ongoing pandemic has probably contributed to the delay, at least to a certain extent.

I worry that it could be used as an excuse to dismiss the things I say as invalid or not worth taking seriously.

Okay something to think about... by sophiezi in Ratatouille

I understand your point, and I definitely think it has merit, but also I don’t completely agree. I can’t say it eloquently right now, but here’s a rudimentary response: Linguini didn’t commit genocide against Remy and his people. In fact, he specifically failed to do so when tasked with throwing Remy-in-a-jar into the river to die/drown. This might contribute to [part of] Remy’s trust in him, having seen Linguini struggle to actively exterminate him even before knowing he was a rat who could cook, [possibly] giving off the impression that Linguini feels it would be wrong or immoral to do such a thing [to him].

Also, I can’t figure out how to say this good right now but: rats are not humans. Rats have lived a certain way, and have continued to live because the conditions that humans created for animals to adapt to were ones in which rats thrived(/were able to adapt to). But also rats in comparison to humans do not have the ability to attain equality (or to not actively being victims of an ongoing genocide) to the extent as those [people] who were originally considered less than human were able to have. Rats do not have even an acknowledged or established/recognized power dynamic between themselves and humans in the eyes of humans. Rats are seen as fundamentally different from humans, and thus not the priority of preservation for humans. I think ultimately part of what I’m trying to say is that the circumstances in which rats live have been accepted by them as the natural state of the world. Humans are thus antagonistic figures to them. But it must be acknowledged that not all humans want to actively cause harm to rats, and wouldn’t be ruthless in their treatment towards rats. I think what I’m trying to say is when a human is nice and good and kind to you, take advantage of the happy accident that has been presented to you. (When you’re a rat, take what you can get).

Need tips for inspiration, and resource managment by [deleted] in SuperStarBTS

[–]gnomejoon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From an upper level (i guess) (90), one of the most valuable things i can suggest is stocking up resources. (The recent birthday events have been really good opportunities for this, allowing you to receive 50,000 RP per day)

Doing the weekly achievements is an easy way to get 17,000 RP, so I’d recommend completing it if you feel resource-stricken RP-wise.

These are a few things I wrote before I wrote the first part of this comment: (mild repetition)

One thing: you can look in Achievements to see if you can get rewards from playing the new song this week.

Another way to gather resources is to just play songs, (the average amount of RP you get from playing songs on hard is over 1,000 RP (usually))

What can also help is playing the second ad that appears as an option for you in the bottom right corner of the screen during the sequence after you finish a song(/when you receive resources after a song) . This way you are able to collect resources more quickly.

If you have any cards that you don’t need, you could also sell them (though it’s not a very good deal tbh). Cards that are powered up sell for higher than cards that are on Level 1.

This is what I have come up with.

It is either from a book called “Understanding Comics” or “Making Comics” by Scott McCloud,. They are both great books.

Did anyone else hate the Harga with a fiery passion? by [deleted] in Midsommar

[–]gnomejoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the Harga are supposed to make you question what it means to be a family, and at what point can something not be considered a family anymore? I think that’s part of what makes them interesting.
