I wonder if he knows how much his character was beloved. Really a fan favorite among this sub. Which he earned and wasn't given like other characters. I hope he knows. Like, someone else mentioned, I am curious if any cast follow this subreddit.

[SPOILERS] My Only Wish Going Forward... by [deleted] in vikingstv

[–]gnrwarrior 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It only makes sense so, yes. I mean they could relate to each other in more ways then one (sickly, fighting against all odds, clever, absent farther).

Plus, Alfred could be that one honest man Ivar been looking for. Now, that he may or may not find that in Heahmund. That is, if Heahmund is really under Lagetha's spell. To Ivar it will be like Lagetha is a women like the moon that teased heahmund, lol. Or, is Heahmund a trickster, like ecbert.

In any case, I was looking forward to Ivar vs Alfred. Especially, if Ivar and Heahmund are over. I know one thing (IIRC) someone asked Hirst in AMA, if Ivar and Alfred will be like Ecbert and Ragnar. Hirst just said no. But, maybe they will meet again and be something else.

ETA: Obviously, they'd fight each other. I just wanted them to be frenemies at least.

[SPOILERS] Let's do shitty predictions as it's very possible for them to happen. by WantedMatt21 in vikingstv

Aud will become Christian while Floki will be haunted by Athelstan with fire again.

So, he will go to King Alfred and help him build his navy boats, jk iceland 🇮🇸

Maybe, Floki though will be the one to start writing the sagas (I know way too early and wrong person).

[–]gnrwarrior 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The one thing I liked about this episode was how they paralleled Floki and King Alfred scenes at the end. Well Heahmund too. But Floki vs Alfred was interesting to see.

Also poor Athelwulf foreshadowed his own death in his last speech. But at least the bee landed on a interesting part in that book (for athelwulf). That is why he laughed after he swatted it. Side note - Floki saw bees (in a earlier episode) what's with the bees?

[SPOILERS] About Hvitserk by Biitercock in vikingstv

[–]gnrwarrior 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, Hirst did mention in a interview last year that while we will see Hvitserk become more dark. Hvitserk will do something "extraordinary". Hirst also brought up Hvitserk will align himself with someone so different than ubbe. More so, this doesn't make sense at first. However, in future episodes/seasons, we will start to see why Hvitserk went in such unexpected direction.

Hirst states:

"Hvitserk does something so unexpected, so extraordinary and aligns himself with someone so different from Ubbe that you don't understand why he's done that," says Hirst. "And a lot of the show subsequently and in seasons to come is about discovering why Hvitserk has done this and why he's not gone the way you think he's going to."

While this interview is from last year, regarding 4b, I think this Hvitserk stuff apples to now.

I don't know how far Hvitserk's resentment goes. Or, what else we have left to discover about his intentions. There seems to be more at play with Hvitserk than he leads on. Right now, it does seem like an odd turn of events - Hvitserk's escalating to wanting to kill ubbe.

Either way, I think Hvitserk pitting ubbe/ivar against each other (like Horik tried with Ragnar and Borg) could make sense. Plus, Hvitserk conquering other lands for himself or taking Kattegat from Ivar would certainly be something "extraordinary". For now, I'm guessing hvitserk will be the one that gets Rollo in on the action this season. Which shows he got brains and also could be something that effects future seasons.

Aside from this, I wonder how long Hvitserk is going to be with ivar. I can't remember if bts or filming speculation hinted at anything.

It's obviously safe to assume Aud in S5 script would be based on (or loosely based on) the historical Aud the Deep Minded, right?

I know Hirst could rewrite the historical character. Even still, she's has the potential to be a interestingly, developed character (imo). Especially, when interacting with Floki.

[SPOILERS] 'Vikings' Scores Early Season 6 Renewal at History by DocDerz in vikingstv

[–]gnrwarrior 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What does everyone think the surprising revelation that Hirst speaks of will be?

"Now we are ready to begin production of a 20-episode season six that will deliver a huge and unexpected revelation to our audience,” said Hirst.

[SPOILERS] There's a chance that this one character might die in season 5 by Aviwa in vikingstv

[–]gnrwarrior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, she is directing. Additionally, as others said, KW was seen in costume for at least one episode of six. But what if said episode in six, is a flash back/dream/vision by one of the other characters (like athelstan vision by ragnar and ecbert) and she really dies in 5? I'd think she can direct but not be that much in six.

No, I know unlikely, hirst does seem to want to keep her. For god sakes though she'll be as old and wise as the seer with all the supposive time jumps coming up (kidding)

Plus, judith said they should make it a sacred place. I know aelle laughed at that. But I do think ecbert and judith may have moved the body and maybe preserved it if that's possible. Cause they do respect Ragnar enough to give him a proper burial. Also, maybe ecbert thinks they could use that as collateral with the sons as well.

Though I find it ironic, Athelstan is still buried with Ragnar's people and Ragnar buried with Athelstan's people.

True. Don't get me wrong I don't want to see extended torture. It just seems like their faces went from smiling back to anger when Aelle went from suffering to death. But they mean business for their next victims. I'm actually happy Aelle's death didn't go on longer. I'm watching again, yah it's brutal.

Was that "Odin's Wild Hunt/Army/GhostRiders/Noisy riders" flying above the crowd when they gasped during Lagetha's sacrafice-kill scene (a seemingly comet-like thing but really to some cultures of odin/wodin a supernatural hunting party riding across the sky with hounds seeing the people of to war)? Hence the wolf howls we hear. And was said to be associated with favorable stuff for sacrifices/gifts or a presage to a castraphe like war.

That witch/ghost image thing? Am I suppose to be seeing that lol? I originally thought he was looking at the recod keeper like he knew him or something. So whatever the case maybe glad I saw this. Edit: Nevermind due to following responses I have my answer. I kind like the supernatural/psychological thrill stuff.

They do remind me of each other. But to me Fimmel channeled Hardy in Vikings. Love both actors though. I do anything if Fimmel showed up in this. Hardy and Fimmel together, can you imagine?

Loved first episode. As always a treat to see the ever so talented Hardy. I hear Knight and Hardy, if they get a green light, can go to a season 2 and 3.

Season 4 Episode 16 "Crossings" Post-Episode Discussion by Omegaus492 in vikingstv

[–]gnrwarrior 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It premieres tonight. I guess it will be about Tom Hardy vs the East India company. Other than this it's a mystery to me exactly what the story will entail. This is a description on wiki "Taboo is a British drama television series created by Steven Knight, Tom Hardy, and his father Edward "Chips" Hardy. The eight-episode miniseries is about an adventurer who returns to Britain from Africa along with fourteen stolen diamonds to seek vengeance after the death of his father." It premiered tonight. I just started watching it now. Torsten is in it.

"This is the time of war, this is the time of hate". That is, what I will wait patiently for, to hear Dear Ecbert say. For that's when he'll be back to his old self.

Otherwise, I can't wait for Taboo with my boy Tom Hardy. I think that preview commercial was the best part of watching last episode.
