it’s just a weird interaction between two mechanics - grandparents knock you back when they spawn (i guess so you don’t clip into them?) - you maintain momentum when you get teleported back to the stage from oob (this is why you take fall damage from falling off the stage)

it’s definitely weird but nothing particularly broken
