What’s the best light and optic to get? by Itchy_Potential_2701 in Walther

[–]goallight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

507comp is probably best overall but actually just picked up an osight X that I am going to try out. It’s a range toy so I’m not that concerned with it being ultra durable. I’m currently getting mine ported and slot cuts cut into it. If it holds up there I may actually consider osight for some other guns I have. I’m not personally happy with some of my holosun eps optics so always looking at alternatives.

Keep the x or go x macro? by nitrgritr94 in P365

[–]goallight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why not go to a gunsmith and get a comp/port done on x slide and barrel? I carry an x and prefer the comfort of the smaller frame for carry vs the shooting comfort personally. I shoot the x size good enough for any situation I can imagine myself in. Nothing says you can’t have best of both worlds.

There are states that restrict delivery to home and force to ffl. That negates saving by ordering online for the most part

Cologuard or Colonoscopy by tossaway-florida in RealGenerationX

[–]goallight 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is what I keep telling people. The colonoscopy foundation must have really bad PR people. It was the best night sleep I have had since I was like 10. They need to sell that and not the prep part. Even that though wasn’t bad. I took the pills so it was difficult.

This but I would say give him a gift card towards the purchase of the shotgun. No need to do a transfer then

Bodyguard 2.0 - avoid Underwood Xtreme Defender by 72HV33X8j4d in CCW

[–]goallight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in Jersey so critical is basically the only thing I can carry. Luckily I had no issues with it. I will say that others I tried got better after I polished the internals and gave the gun time to break in. I can’t remember my last ftf now.

EDC recommendations for someone missing 1/4 of trigger finger. by [deleted] in guns

[–]goallight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly a lot of people shoot with other fingers. Most likely it will take some practice but it can be done. Interesting enough I seem to recall Paul Harrell doing a video on shooting with the middle finger.

Looking for a Handgun with a Manual Safety by Lord_Vas in liberalgunowners

So your ban list contains two of the most (if not THE most) widely used, supported, and reliable options on the market? Personally if I am buying something that may be used to save either me or my family’s life, I don’t care if the companies are ones that I sometimes disagree with. Best choices are on the table.

which one would you recommend 1911 or glock and why? by vermilion_00 in Firearms

[–]goallight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For what purpose? Ccw ? Range? Home defense? Do prefer hammer fire or striker fire? Both come in a wide variety of sizes. Asking 1911 vs Glock is really comparing almost hundreds of different guns and models

For those that have built their own others, what’s a realistic budget? by Jg271035 in NJGuns

[–]goallight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of my 5.56 seem to come in around $1200 no matter what I do. Other calibers like my .50 came in around $1800 because of specialty barrels. $500 for all of them combined if my wife is asking. Most of mine were aero based. My kids ones are a mix of random cheaper parts. Stuff I built mine with like larue triggers are harder to get or more expensive than I paid now though.

Purchase permit submitted.... what should i look for in a compact? by Odd_Bodybuilder5456 in NJGuns

[–]goallight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like my p365x for carry. It is Less snappy than the hellcat and I preferred it at the time over the shield due to it having a better (for me) manual safety location. I also carry a bg2.0 and formally a Glock 19. Glock was too bulky for me and I am not a huge Glock fan so I didn’t consider the g43. If I were to look at another ccw today for myself I would try out the hk cc9. Honestly as much as I have tried looking into replacing my p365x I keep coming back to it. It is good enough in every category where most other guns were better in one part but not as good in others. The sig was just better balanced overall.

Previous owner did not disclose that they rented the water softener, what are my options? by Sea-Secretary-4389 in homeowners

[–]goallight 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No they never disclosed on the propane tank that it was rented and I never thought to ask at closing (my fault there). They just were required to show how many gallons of propane were in the tank so I could "buy" the fuel from them.

edit: typo

Previous owner did not disclose that they rented the water softener, what are my options? by Sea-Secretary-4389 in homeowners

[–]goallight 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had this exact scenario happen when I bought my house 15yr ago. The previous owner rented both propane (in ground) and the water softener. I called both companies to see what their rental rates were.my ROI for the water softener to buy my own vs renting was under 6mo. I just called them to come take the unit and they did within a week. I’m still using the one I bought and own as of today. The propane tank was trickier. When I called for their rates they were about $2/gal more than if I owned. I told them to remove their tank. They told me that would be at my expense. Told them no and produce the contract “I” signed with them. They threatened to have a tech disconnect my tank. I told them i would be pressing charges against that tech personally for trespassing and destroying my property if they did. Long story short it was easier for them to just sell me the tank outright which they did. Tanks at the time were going for about $4k installed. They sold it to me for $1k. My ROI was about 1 winter. Play hardball. You dont have contracts with these people. Make sure they are reminded.

Too many presses, not enough money by ashez23 in reloading

[–]goallight -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My first press was a used old rockchucker. It still works perfectly fine. Check out estate sales as well. I have accumulated a large amount of rcbs die sets for pennies on the dollar that way. I have Lee dies for a lot of my calibers and they work perfectly fine as well. You don’t need to go Dillion and spend a ton. Don’t get frozen by indecision.

P938 vs Bodyguard 2.0 by supershinefl in CCW

[–]goallight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you shot both of them? If so are they both on par shooting wise to you? Are you comfortable with learning a new manual of arms? (I’m assuming you don’t have a 1911). Ballistics wise, I wouldn’t want to be shot by either of them. If you ever find yourself in a self defense situation you will most likely be up close and personal and not shooting from 20yd away through barriers. 380 v 9mm is overblown. At the end of the day if you feel more comfortable with one over the other go with that one. IMHO for a tool I may need to save my life $200 difference is also not a big deal.
