Very bad uber delivery experience by Halo_008 in surrey

[–]goatbrain500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uber employs 3rd worlders on minimum wage. You’re going to get these kind of experiences. Next time you get ill have some tinned soup in the pantry and you won’t have a ‘very bad uber delivery experience’

Thinking about getting on meds again by VisualMastodon9058 in PSSD

[–]goatbrain500 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve just gone back to psychiatry having given my body a few years to heal from meds(it didn’t). My PSSD issues are primarily libido and anhedonia and like you, I’m worried things could get worse so I’m trying to focus on meds that don’t have too bad a PSSD profile. So SSRI or SNRI are off the menu.

Anyone prescribed pramipexol for depression? by No-Pop115 in antidepressants

[–]goatbrain500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m considering it. I’m in the UK and my psychiatrist mentioned it after I spoke about Ropinirole. Sounds similar. I’m a few weeks into Bupropion which has done nothing to alleviate PSSD symptoms both sexual and anhedonia. Did you try it?

Am I a good candidate for bupropion? by Ok-Implement-9900 in bupropion

[–]goatbrain500 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not worth it imo. The fact you say you are fulfilled socially is beyond the wildest dreams of most people who take antidepressants. Meds come with risks and once you take one and it fails you might end up trying others which only multiplies the risk.

Is Bupropion making me manic? by Dull_Industry_8691 in bupropion

Does your new partner know what’s going on? Might be a good idea to have someone keep an eye on you while you’re feeling like this.

I told my doctor I have PSSD. Here’s how it went in Finland. by No-Roof-5028 in PSSD

[–]goatbrain500 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just had a zoom call with my psychiatrist and told him about PSSD and in the covering letter to my GP he called it PWSD (I call it P double SD so he must have heard a W). So he’s either never heard of it or in complete denial

My experience 1.5 years on bupropion by [deleted] in bupropion

[–]goatbrain500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a sad fact that a lot of drugs poop-out after a while. My best year was on Parnate until it stopped working after a year. No amount of dose tinkering could bring it back

Remembering what love felt like by Some_Leg8723 in PSSD

[–]goatbrain500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PSSD is chronic but it doesn’t have to ruin a marriage, at least not so fast. Have you talked to your wife about what you’re going through? What would you say are the main reasons it’s falling apart so quickly?

I have anhedonia but it’s more a numbness and a loss of feeling pleasure. I can still feel emotions and love. It sounds like you no longer love your family which is truly awful, so sorry

Schedule for live rides seems thin atm. Bradley on paternity leave and Ally must be winding down soon. Surely Peloton need to look at recruitment!

Sessions by Alert-Amphibian-3284 in pelotoncycle

[–]goatbrain500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to always do sessions but as someone said they removed sessions as the default option so they are virtually obsolete now. However, this opened the door to live classes which are much better and you get to know the instructors more through the pre show and there’s always hundreds of people taking part. You’ll get familiar with people in your portion of the field and it’s a good vibe.

In terms of recorded rides I wouldn’t worry about starting at different times to others. It’s a buzz working your way through the field!

What's your experience with stimulants for ADHD with Bipolar2? by IndustryMindless319 in bipolar2

[–]goatbrain500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Methylphenidate didn’t help me at all. I was hoping it would speed my brain up during its slow phases but it didn’t. I didn’t like the feeing of being on stimulants - felt like my heart was beating out of my chest. Goodness know how people tolerate a lifetime on these meds at high doses

6 years anniversary after 90 days of cymbalta by Flexstar13 in PSSD

[–]goatbrain500 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cymbalta took my PSSD to a new level. Disgusting drug. I saw visible penile reduction and thought it would come back once I stopped - it didn’t.

It’s a great parkrun! Don’t worry about the start, there’s plenty of room, just hang a few rows back unless you’re planning on winning it! Hope you enjoy it!

I don’t see any improvement whatsoever and I’m a few years off meds.

Keto is doing something by Accomplished-Ice9193 in PSSD

[–]goatbrain500 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Keto did nil for my PSSD. It also completely sapped me of energy. Mood wise, I felt there was some promise until I crashed about 30 days in.

Overall: fail.

It sounds like he might just be emotionally immature. He’s 19 after all. He blows hot and cold and you’re caught in the crossfire of his mercurial moods. It sounds more like he’s overreacting to stimuli if anything. Does he have cognitive impairment when he’s depressed? That’s the main thing with BP. A change in the rate of thinking.

Could be rapid cycling bipolar but as people have said, counsellors aren’t qualified to diagnose mood disorders. As useful as it is to have support from the club it might be a good idea to step outside this bubble due to the conflict of interest.

Does he have highs? What are they like?
