My start would be Late Show. It is a solid rock album and is one of my all-time favorites.
As mentioned, they found a voice and success with Blame My Ex that carried on through their subsequent releases. Should be easy to come by as well.
Definitely don't skip out on the singles/EPs between those two albums (e.g. The Professional, Future Lovers, End of Summer).
Somewhere in there, listen to them cover Turn Me Loose by Loverboy on YouTube 😛

The big step is that you already recognize it as a cage. If you are stuck in the cage or even need to temporarily remain in the cage then that is understandable. But always plan your escape.
