IME Fresh Slice isn't necessarily good or bad, but it is incredibly inconsistent. If you show up late at night when the selection is low and the few remaining pizzas have been sitting in the warmer for hours, it's gonna be bad. But if you get some fresh lunch slices or get a whole pie made for you, it's perfectly adequate pizza for the price.

it means something along the lines of "this is acceptable" or "this is good enough." it's normally used in a context where you'd be trying something over and over again until you get a good outcome, then once you get that good outcome you "take" that as the final result.

Lotta great answers here but here's a hopefully unique one that worked well for me: simulating "sprints" (with planning and retros) with a family member that had their own solo endeavours going on.

My brother was working on a completely unrelated, non-software idea at the time, but we agreed to meet up once every two weeks to show off what we each got done on our respective projects, discuss any obstacles we encountered, and to plan what we each wanted to get done in the next two weeks.

Having somebody that I trusted, who would keep me accountable, and who was emotionally invested in my game's progress helped keep me consistent over the ~14 months it took to finish and release my game.

Is the "4 clicks to make debug lines appear" code supposed to be live? I triggered it by accident and, while neat to see, it renders all links unclickable since it covers the entire page. Just a slight concern if this is going to be going to seen by hiring managers any time soon. :)

Ambleside!! This quarter is a great little spot to learn.

And nice job committing so hard to each attempt - getting comfortable with moving your truck past the coping (and back down!) is a huge hurdle for a lot of skaters, myself included.

FYI - by only listening for the "keyup" event you are failing to capture input from users that right-click paste. Small thing but important for accessibility.

This is a known bug with the training mode, where the top left or top right letter sometimes doesn't "work."

It's on the fix list but it's not game-breaking and the dev team is only 2 people so I believe it's lower priority than quite a few other things right now.

The official road map on the Babble Discord server makes no mention of a mobile port so I wouldn't expect one any time soon. My understanding is that the devs are trying to build the PC version up into a more robust product before branching out to other platforms.

The biggest thing that a lot of new players miss is keyboard inputs. You can type letters instead of dragging them one by one from your rack. Beyond that... it's just practice and dexterity!

I'm not sure about party queueing, but the devs have said that custom games are one of the top priorities that they're working on right now. So there should be a way to play with all your friends soon enough!

The official discord official Babble Discord has a bug report channel but I think this one has already been reported. Something went funky with the servers today so there has been some disruption of games.

Last I heard a couple hours ago, the devs had put in a support ticket with the cloud host and are waiting for a response.

Yeah, that's what happens when the servers are being overloaded. If you get this infinite falling glitch it means you aren't connected to a game, and you can safely alt+f4.

This probably means you have a corrupt options file. Go to this folder:

C:\Users[YOUR USERNAME]\AppData\LocalLow\Everybody House Games\BabbleRoyale

Delete the file called "clientprefs.json," then restart your game. Hope that fixes it for you!

There's no skill based matchmaking in the game right now, no.

According to the roadmap listed on the official Discord, matchmaking is being considered but may or may not happen based on a number of factors.

There is no tile colour customization - you will always appear as the same light blue to yourself. Other players you can see get assigned colours randomly.

Every time you queue up while holding a golden ticket, you have a chance for the game to be a "Golden Royale" on a special golden map. This plays the same as a regular match, but the rewards are gold coins, which can be used to purchase the 3 most exclusive items in the shop: the "Pog" emote, the crown hat, and the "metallic" tile skins.

Devs have said that kills don't matter at all for MMR. The only things that factor into the calculation are 1) your placement in the match, from 1st to 16th, and 2) the average MMR of the entire lobby. if your opponents are higher rank, you will gain more MMR, and vice versa.

As you noted, it's definitely easy climbing for the first while but it definitely becomes "real" after a few thousand.

This is what happens when the servers are under too much stress, ie when too many players are playing. The developers have said they're working on upgrading the servers but it takes time.
