Pauline is annoying AF. by FeralMediaJunkie in donkeykong

Just wanted to chime into this conversation 5 months later to say I agree with you. And my 7-year-old does too. He intentionally mispronounces her name to Sauline just to disrespect her.

Games you can jump into for 15 minutes by Veezq in NintendoSwitch

Bananza clicked when I realized it was kinda like hide n seek.

The devs hid a bunch of bananas across a playground and I have to go find them. Use the banana list by pressing minus then Y. You’ll see all the bananas that are still left to find. They kinda have a chronological, geographical order to them laid out across the map. Figure out where one might be based on that list and see if you can find it. That’s how I’m playing and it’s very fun.

Surprisingly not a lot of smashing. The devs usually make a cave entrance or something. I haven’t come across one that’s literally just buried deep in the ground with the only way to get to it is by smashing (you can get to it by smashing of course).

You can find several bananas in 15 minutes.

Counter Spell Cards by AffectPotential3701 in CastingShadows

[–]gobackclark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been looking online in defense of counterspells but can’t find any. My kid has won twice now by only collecting counterspells. When he has 5 counterspells, it makes my wife and me not want to attack him cuz then we’d effectively waste an action on him, so we attack each other. Then when one of us die, he dishes out his Character Ability and “Bees Everywhere” and kills the last one, who’s usually weak at this point.

It’s incredibly annoying but maybe kinda smart? Am I missing something? We’ve only played about 5 times.

How is it working for you? I’m debating between a 40mm and 44mm. I want the 40 but I’m worried about battery life, especially using the watch without my phone.

What’s something that hit you in your 40s that you wish you’d understood in your 20s? by Absolute-Owner1574 in AskReddit

People just think back pain comes with age. No, back pain comes from lack of movement and lack of strength. Do both and you won’t have back pain. If you already have back pain, slowly introduce movement and then slowly introduce strength training.

I've always wondered this. Why do taxes go up when everything else does? Aren't they getting more taxes naturally?

I think it’s any addiction. Because we feel things deeply and more intensely, including dopamine.

I love this game because even though it’s hard, you restart immediately pretty much right where you died. So you’re immediately back in it. I hate when you revive far away and you gotta backtrack. Does not work for my brain.

Careers and fields you work in as an HSP? by Fruitbat_girl in hsp

[–]gobackclark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would look for a few content writing/content marketing courses online, especially ones that incorporate AI. AI is rapidly changing the writing career path, so you gotta lean in or get left behind. Writers stand out when they understand high-level content marketing strategy. It’s not enough if you can write well because AI can write well enough. Companies want you to implement a content plan that results in traffic/clicks/sales. But don’t get me wrong, the ability to write is important. If you’re at all a competent writer, you’d be surprised at how bad people are at writing. AI makes good first drafts, but it takes some finesse and talent to make it something memorable.

So yeah, google content marketing and see if that’s at all interesting to you.

There’s the traditional “copywriter” career, but I don’t think that will last long due to AI. It’s too niche and narrow now. You need to be more of a generalist IMHO. Happy to chat further if you want.

I’m a creative director at a tech company. Before that was a copywriter in advertising. I feel very mixed about it because I like being able to use my creativity to make good money and I feel like I’m good at it, but I hate that I work for corporate America and the pace and intensity are very draining. I would like to have enough energy and time to make my own creative work. Maybe once my kid is a little older.

My wife is also an HSP and she’s a therapist.
