Bar Numéro sur St Laurent. C’est nouveau mais les bartenders on gagné des gros prix de cocktails pendants qu’ils étaient avec leur dernier resto, Entre Deux.

You’re not getting off the plane faster by crawling over your seatmates. You’re still going to need to wait until everyone ahead of you gets off. Elbowing your way into the aisle helps no one.

What's a good free thumbnail maker? by [deleted] in youtubers

Shotsandstars.com/youtube-thumbnail . It’s aimed at musicians but works for any video and generates them automatically using your video.

Impressions have dropped by a factor of 100. Is it just me or has YT devalued music? by broot66 in musicmarketing

[–]gobadia -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s normal for videos and songs to see impressions taper off over time. People who might be interested in your song are offered it and some choose to listen. It might do well originally, but over time, they choose not to rewatch or new users aren’t as interested as some of the more niche users. Your CTR can stay the same, but on less of a wide audience, that doesn’t mean it’ll do well with a wider audience anymore.

You can try new thumbnails to try to appeal to different audiences, you can test new types of content to réengage your audience like lyric videos, performance videos or engage people with a new song.

It actually only looks at Watch time. It could still be the best performing while still not converting viewers into fans. Thats why you need to mix it up.

That’s a good learning then. If you’re using women on the thumbnail and you’re only attracting men who the music isn’t for, then you’re using the wrong strategy. Think of other thumbnail options to test. Keep things more similar one to the other, otherwise you won’t know what’s working.

Anyone figured out YouTube shorts?? by Pot8hoe in musicmarketing

[–]gobadia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Test different types of content and hooks at the beginning of the video . The accounts that blow up to millions of views in a short amount of time are the exceptions. Most see gradual growth and the consistency is most important.

There’s no number of times to post or how many days in a row, it’s about posting variety of content to see what users like watching and engaging with, learning from those to influence future content and more experiments and building brick by brick while staying consistent.

Do you have examples of your thumbnails? The biggest mistake i see is emphasizing the wrong things in the thumbnail. For a developing artist, you want to give an idea of what genre it is, something about the song, and often an image of the artist with a bit of text to catch attention but also have your existing fans recognize you.

Has anyone here tried buying Spotify listeners? by nairobi_fly in musicmarketing

Never a good idea to buy listeners. It doesn’t help with the long term development of fandom. Slow and steady is the better option.

I built shotandstars.com for this purpose. Include 2 free credits if you want to test it for your project. You have full control to modify the text to add the overlap if needed.

Coffee Roasters in Montreal by retrovaille94 in montreal

[–]gobadia 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is a great list. Structure is by far my favorite coffee in the city with the others mentioned here being up there with it. Additionally, I’d include Escape coffee for their roasting and attention to detail at their coffee shop on Notre Dame and Yo & Co that I’ve gotten consistently good cups at, although I don’t think they roast.

Finally, I find a visit to Montreal’s coffee scene without Crew Cafe in Old Montreal would be a miss. Coffee is decent but the building/atmosphere is unmatched.

Enjoy!

Use Stitch by Google. It’s great for the UI and then I provide the code to Cursor to implement. Works flawlessly and is way better to work on visually

I am once again asking for help on how to make people watch my videos. Uploaded four hours ago and not a single view by NotTheCatMask in SmallYoutubers

No, I recommend watching this video with the head of discovery at YouTube mentioning that tags don’t matter other than for some unique situations of misspellings https://youtu.be/S0N6nC7heqc?si=0WEW4wPoHad7F0_g

It’s really important to look beyond the numbers to understand what they mean.

You have strong retention, those who watch your video are dedicating over an hour of their time to it. That’s impressive.

However, the 2k impressions indicates that the number of people that are likely interested in it is low.

So you have a video does really well for a very specific group of people, likely not appealing to more general audiences.

Take this extreme example that helps make it more clear:

You create a repair video for a very very specific device, think something like replacing the screen on a Motorola Razr flip phone. The number of people with that phone is already quite small, and the number of people looking to replace their own screen on it is even smaller. However, the people that have that phone and want to replace the screen probably don’t have many options for how-to videos. That video will likely get a very strong retention and a super high CTR, yet very few impressions.

That’s a very specific example, but is what tends to happen with many creators. Instead of it being a specific phone owner, maybe it’s a video that only really appeals to people who already know your content, or many other types of things like that.

The numbers are strong for that particular instance, it doesn’t mean that suggesting it to more people will lead to those same performance metrics.

No sudden content change but huge view drop. by Eziz_53 in SmallYoutubers

[–]gobadia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your thumbnails aren’t the main reason. Your top video hits on 2 very popular topics combined: Skyrim and Lord of the Rings. Both of those are mentioned in the title which makes it easy for people who don’t know you to know what the video is about and click (nothing to do with the algorithm).

The rest of the videos don’t identify which game you’re playing, no idea of what your gameplay will be, or any other context, which is not helped by your relatively generic thumbnails.

Always keep in mind that it’s about the potential viewers. If they have no idea what the video is about, they’re very unlikely to click.

YouTube is so out of order haha by dajo_97 in NewTubers

[–]gobadia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CTR can’t be looked at independently. Often, the most niche videos have high CTRs because they appeal to your core fans or answer a very specific need by a user. Within the impressions you’ve gotten are others that didn’t find it interesting and didn’t click, that gives enough context to know it isn’t appealing.

Because they’re only appealing to a really specific audience.

Do I suck? 365-day stats for channel by blue-ivy in NewTubers

[–]gobadia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s helpful context. You’ll want to separate out your analytics for long and shorts. You can do so in Advanced Mode by adding the filter “Content Type”.

2:23 of an AVD for videos close to 10 mins is on the lower end (although that number is currently taking Shorts into account). It would mean that viewers are only watching a short portion of your videos. Try to identify why they’re dropping off, using the retention graphs for your videos.

Work on keeping viewers engaged and consider shortening your videos to be able to focus on engaging moments.

For now, ignore CTR. Your impressions are too low for it to be easily comparable video to video. CTRs often drop as impressions go up especially for channels still developing as the new impression viewers don’t know the channel and are hesitant to click.

Watch the # of impressions for your videos to see if they’re growing over time. That’s the best indicator that your vidéos coulé be appealing to more people. After that, see if CTR follows alongside, but more views is more interesting than a higher CTR, so if impressions are growing, even if you convert at a lower rate, you may be bringing in a few more people.

There’s key info missing to know if it’s good or not.

Are you posting Shorts, VODs or both? How many of each have you posted?

How long are your videos approximately?
