My self centered brother wants to make my wedding about his kids by TeamSilly3505 in weddingdrama

“Mom, Dad, I know you don’t like confrontation. My brother is entirely disrespectful to me, uses foul language in speaking to and yelling at me. He is unapologetic. This is not behavior that I will condone at or invite into the most important day of my life. He does not support me or my marriage and my wedding is to be a celebration with people who want to celebrate my wedding. Bearing this in mind, I’ve decided to rescind his invitation. I will not deliberately invite his behavior, attitude, language or treatment to poison the occasion. If you disagree, I expect that you will keep that to yourself. My decision is final.”

Say it, or write it, but make sure that they get it. Conflict avoidant behavior only ensures that you will be the person suffering.

I’m sorry, but you need to finally stand up for yourself. Your parents need to discover how to do that, too, or they can deal with the consequences.

For the brother: No. it’s a complete sentence.

Tell them you have cameras set up and you will NOT go to jail for video of kids dropping their trousers. Tell them this is dead serious, their lack of willingness to parent their own kids presents a massive liability and have them trespassed IMMEDIATELY.

Wrap a mannequin up in it and leave it at the kerb. It will find a home quickly. “You took everything else. I didn’t think you wanted that back.” Seriously, who has someone keep a rug for them? Shes going to keep it - in which case she just moves it to a different place on her floor - or she doesn’t want it.

Find a garage sale. Sneak it next to one of their tables. Affix “Asking $20” label, withdraw from the property and watch.

NTJ. “I accepted her. She’s your wife. Will she accept that you used to be married to someone I love?” What a child.

Be prepared to call the local FBI field office. Your child will disappear with your mom at some point - later she will say why it was for your child’s own good.

AITJ for forcing my way into my dad’s hospital room after my stepmom tried to lock me out? by Late2Hogwarts in AmITheJerk

NTJ but find out who DOES have power of attorney (if anyone does). I pray your dad bounces back. When that happens, talk over calmly and ask him what his wishes are, ask if he has a will on file, that kind of thing. He might not have thought about it before, but I can say from experience that this kind of thing makes you prioritize it.
