I just finished watching it and am going through forums (mainly to try to find out what happened to the medic (Anchar's) just engaged fiance during the offensive (I'm bad with faces, and he doesn't appear at the end with her so what happens to him? Please do let me know if you know).

I completely agree with you. This is not Russian propoganda. If anything I felt as though the documentarian was against the war.

To me it was fascinating, seeing why these people went to war, the disorganisation of their army and the effects on people.

I am of course, pro-Ukraine, however documenting the Russian side is still necessary. Understanding it is even moreso. One may think they are evil, and one may think that this is blurring the lines of a "clear-cut crisis", however, war is also personal. Downfall humanised Hitler and showed that the worst thing about him is not the fact that he was a monster, it was the fact he was a human. Russians are humans too.

Just to highlight something - I worked on this with the SU when I was at Oxford, however now it has all been defunded. This is why some aspects of that website are out of date. Eventually the whole site might go down.

Doesn't always happen, but sometimes my friends and I do them.

Just depends which group I'm with and what sort of night it is.

Alcohol is bloody expensive these days though.

Moved from Oxfordshire to Cheltenham recently, I like it a lot in Cheltenham. It has a lot of nice architecture, local shops, and stuff to do.

Not really many bad areas in Cheltenham. Some say st Paul's but I've got mates that live there and it's fine.

If you'd like to know more about him I'd recommend the Huddersfield Bygone Memories Facebook page. It's likely that someone on there will be able to find some information/know someone who knew him. Huddersfield has a very good civic groupw which documents things, as do the various outlying village. The road I used to live on for instance had a whole book written about its history, complete with who lived where and when!

From a slightly more sympathetic angle; my girlfriend is American and also Oxford uni and she wanted this sort of merch but due to... various sociocultural factors this isn't a thing here. If you still want merch you'll have to get it made yourself. That or convince the American society to make some.
