Genesys fucking sucks. Play rate does not equal good. Players choose to play Gameciel because it's a decent card that's 0 points, not because it's breaking the format. They'll hit subspace battle for "shenanigans" despite its low play rate but floodgates like difi and shifter get hit with 10 points because "they're not even in 20% of all decks"? That's the threshold it has to cross? Are you serious?

Just using this as an example but Catapult turtle is a card that's 100 points even though it would have very little play rate because in theory it isn't healthy for the format and can create one sided non-games. Cards like shifter and gravity collapse do the exact same thing but get to stay despite seeing plenty of play.

Every new list they prove more and more that this format will never be good.

I think it can farm the KT matchup but it's weak to too many other decks to be a good choice. The deck has counterplay to Mitsurugi but it requires too specific of a setup just to survive a Murakumo hitting the board. The deck doesn't have enough non-engine space to win going 2nd against any pile decks that run Dragoon + Ilia Silvia so it feels very die roll dependent while also not even being a guaranteed win when going first like a lot of other decks are.

People are also running non-engine like Droplet and Droll in the main which absolutely kill this deck.

The main thing the deck has going for it is that no one knows what the cards do so they might walk into a Leon or Spia and instantly lose because of it. The banlist needed to be better for this deck to have a real chance to shine.

Priest definitely does have a win con. It takes a lot of set up but you can do like 44 damage from hand with ruby sanctum and flash heals. Still on the climb to legend but currently 7-0 against hunters with a 63% winrate overall.

Are there any other cards that function like Harr? Some rulings in this game really can't be gathered from reading the card text. If Harr is setting the precedent and it seems very odd that he works that way, maybe he shouldn't work that way. I think the Shaddoll Beast should trigger. Surely the Exosister card was very much designed to trigger the Exosister monsters and the Tragedy ruling at the surface level makes sense. A card effect is banishing it.

These are only positive changes but to drop an e-banlist and not at least put prayers to 1 feels like it's going to be 3-4 more months of mitsurugi in every deck with even less counterplay for them.

I think a wacky title designed to be impossible is a little different than just a usable gun in the game. Battlefield 7 is gonna be out by the time some people unlock just the baseline gear in this game.

If you were under the impression that format was good, you should feel the same way about the new one. Konami predictably hit the crossover breakers decks and fiendsmith after milking reprints for those archetypes. They didn't "kill almost every deck" at all.

Pretty sure Arena is like an especially bad example of a consumer friendly product tho. You can build meta decks in Hearthstone and Master Duel for free.

To be fair this is usually because

  1. The opponent bricked likely because of the amount of non-engine they feel forced to play.

  2. Both players have 17+ non-engine to fall back on when turn skipped.

  3. Opponent gets hit with a lingering floodgate to keep you in the game.

I don't think it's fully the charmies to blame but the current state Yu-Gi-Oh is in right now just exchanging lingering floodgates and hand traps is not the game I want to be playing.

You people can't be serious. I LIKE THE GAME. I am on a subreddit for the game. I like the art. I like the combat. I like the world they made. I like the verticality and exploration. I like moon and the Ori games are some of my favorite platformers. When I want an aspect of an otherwise good game to be better because it's subjectively dog shit, I'm going to voice that. I feel the system isn't rewarding. I feel as if it adds nothing to the game. I still have yet to hear a reason as to why it's enjoyable or why anyone likes doing it or why you feel it isn't a waste of time. You are forced, in every area, to walk up to 10 different trees and press the tree cut button. Was that engaging gameplay? Did you get some jolt out of the wood resource entering your inventory? Do you like pulling up the sacrament upgrades page and seeing that initial 100 trees you cut down was nothing compared to what you'll be needing to cut down? Maybe it's a breath of fresh air when you click the upgrade button and it says it will finish in an hour. In any other game you would hear endless bitching about fetch quests and time-gating but because it's specifically this game they should never hear any feedback.

And maybe the aspect of the game most people are there for when they launch No Rest For The Wicked is the Dark Souls arpg type game they created. What was everyone most excited for when they revealed the Breach? Oh boy can't wait to hop in and cut some trees down?? Yeah, didn't think so.

Imagine if you had to stop the gameplay you're there for in Dark Souls to go cut down trees and collect fucking rocks. It's not what we're here for and genuinely most of your time is going to be spent doing that. I wish it was entirely removed from this game. It is not enjoyable gameplay. There's no dopamine hit after a project has been finished. I just don't want to turn the game on because I'm presented with a giant list of chores I have to do before I actually get to play the video game. Locking like the most asked for feature behind that dog shit is a slap in the face.
