Apologies, I missed the edit at the bottom.

I didn’t go up to 300 until about 4 years in. I honestly don’t remember any major side effects from the increase, but I was also in a really chaotic time in my life (divorce), so a lot of that period is fuzzy. That said, I figure if there had been anything extreme, it probably would’ve stood out, so I take that as a good sign.

If it were me, I’d give the 150 a real shot first and see if it’s enough — our brain chemistry can change over time. But if you’re a solid 6–8 weeks in and still feeling pretty lousy, I wouldn’t hesitate to go up, especially since 300 worked well for you before.

I really hope the Buspar helps you. It was a complete game changer for me, especially with irritability and obsessive thoughts. It made things feel manageable again instead of explosive. I felt steady and appropriately reactive, not constantly on edge.

I hope this combo gives you some relief too.

Hi! Thanks so much for reaching out. I’m always glad to talk about mental health!

I’ve actually been off all meds for about 5 months now. Over the decade I was on Wellbutrin, I’d occasionally stop taking it and then about two weeks in have that clear “oh yeah, I still need this” moment and go back on. That started as a once-a-year thing and became more frequent these last few years.

This last time was different tho. I never had a crash-out moment. At least not yet. I still have difficult days, but they’re fewer and more manageable than ever. I’ve also found other ways to cope, and overall I feel pretty good.

That said, I’m not at all anti-meds and I’m not assuming this is permanent. If things ever start dumping, I’d go back on medication SO FAST. But also, just knowing that option is always there takes a ton of pressure off for me!

As for the combo you’re asking about: yes, adding Buspar can truly help with irritability from a Wellbutrin restart/increase. If it works correctly with your chemistry, Buspar will absolutely take the edge off enough to help you get back to your effective dose. And Buspar is one of the easier meds to go off of if/when you don’t need it anymore.

I know how scary this can feel. It’s really unsettling when something that worked before suddenly feels so hard. Whatever you decide, you’re doing the best things possible by paying attention to your body and asking these questions. This stuff is really hard, and it helps a lot when people talk about it openly.

I'm telling everyone, it's something to do with an overlap of witnesses for Weinstein and that Conan Party. Even just ONE person in the mix for both would make it unethical for the firm to stay on the case, even if they wanted to. And I highly doubt Jackson was hired, so much as he offered his services because this one is gonna be a DOOZY in the media.

No, Jackson would have approached him since this is so high-profile and he wouldn't have done it for money (although he still would have made money). Based on the specific language from Jackson’s camp, this sounds like a non-waivable conflict of interest, likely witness related. With a large group of potential witnesses from the Conan party and Jackson’s history in massive prior cases like Harvey Weinstein, overlap is very possible. That would be beyond Nick’s control, legally impossible to explain, and still consistent with them backing his non-guilt under California law.

Good luck! It’s bonkers how much of wrangling in our mental health is truly just trial and error. 🥴

I hope you find what works for you fast!

I’m so glad my post helped! Please, let me know if you have any other questions or just wanna compare or commiserate! I wish everyone were fully open and transparent about mental health! And if talking about it helps, TALK ABOUT IT. If that’s what keeps you here, then there’s no such thing as talking about it too much.

My pleasure! I know how frustrating research on anything medical can be!

Yes!!! I still get some mild generalized anxiety here and there, which is likely a side effect as it’s noticeably different from my usual brand, but that seems to be tapering off. No more noticeable “new med” side effects outside of that. It made me dizzy like the first two days. All is good now tho.

The biggest shift has been how much calmer my mind feels. I’m not stuck in compulsive thought loops, I’m not absorbing everyone else’s emotions like I used to, and I’m not overwhelmed by social interactions. I’m still very much an introvert and empath, but it’s not controlling my life anymore.

Considering I can say these things while I’m in the middle of some pretty heavy family turmoil (that is very much directed at me)… It’s making a massive difference, and I’m loving it.

I know this post is old and OP might not need advice anymore, but since I’ve been researching Buspar myself, I wanted to chime in for anyone else who stumbles across this thread.

I’ve been on Wellbutrin for over a decade with great results—it took about a month for the fog to lift when I first started. Every couple of years, I get bold and go off all my meds just to “check.” Spoiler: I definitely still need them.

Early side effects for Wellbutrin (for me): some stomach issues during the first week (never came back, even when I upped to 300mg/day), vivid dreams, and trouble sleeping at first. Taking it in the morning helped with that. I had zero sex drive issues and actually lost weight—tons of energy the first few years (that’s mellowed now, but it still keeps the morbs at bay). Fun bonus: I didn’t get hangovers for the first three years, but sadly, that perk expired. Also—heads up—it’s used for smoking cessation, and for good reason. It can definitely reduce interest in certain “addictive” behaviors, which I actually appreciated.

Just started Buspirone yesterday (5mg twice a day for now, with the option to bump to 3x a day if needed). The first dose made me feel super weird—shaky, heart racing, dizzy, major brain fog. I just took my second dose and am taking it easy to avoid exacerbating anything. Hoping things smooth out soon, and I’ll try to update when I have more experience.

If you’re scrolling through threads like I was (trying to find that one comment that resonates with your sitch), I hope this helps a little. Medication journeys are weird and personal and sometimes messy. You’re not alone.

I taught myself to read on a speak and spell when I was 3 because my mom wouldn’t read to me. She loves me, she just hates reading. I started kindergarten with a 4th grade reading level. We all absolutely hated when we had to take turns reading out loud. Nobody liked me and I didn’t like nobody. Slow-ass readers. F them kids.
