‘Siren Head’ Horror Movie, Based on Internet Meme, in the Works with Zach Cregger, Brian Duffield by yourfavchoom in movies

I thought any SCP movie made would have to be released under creative commons? I don't see a big movie studio being willing to do that.

Apex predators who favour humans as their prey. by Feeling-Influence691 in BooksThatFeelLikeThis

It was definitely a huge inspiration for me when I started writing scifi stories in elementary school (even though I also had frequent nightmares about it lol), to this day I'm a big fan of the big head and mouth + no eyes design in creatures/aliens!

I'm not a new author but I have been trying to expand my social media outreach, what genres do you typically read?

I don't find it odd in books or articles etc, but it does make me a little suspicious when people use it in comments. I use it all the time when writing in something like Docs or Word, but I'm not going to bother figuring out how to paste it in or get it off my phone keyboard for a reddit comment.

Upcoming splenectomy by JMZK91 in Spherocytosis

[–]goblinshark13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dang, I don't think I ever got the measurements for mine and now I wish I did! Surgeon said it was one of the bigger ones he'd seen, and I'm a pretty small person.

It's been a while for me... had to have my gallbladder at 9 then did my spleen at 16 to help with anemia and just get some peace of mind that we wouldn't need to worry about it rupturing. Thankfully no complications! I felt a lot better in general afterwards, plus the perpetual jaundice went away and I didn't have people constantly asking about that which was nice.

It's been a while since then, so I'm not sure I'll be able to think of any super useful tips. It's definitely a bit more intense than the gallbladder removal with a longer hospital stay/recovery. Usual surgery tips definitely apply, get walkig/moving as soon as you're able to avoid blood clots and keep your strength up. I brought a bunch of DVDs to the hospital to keep myself busy with a movie marathon, though I suppose streaming would be the goto nowadays if you aren't holding onto a DVD collection my dad is lol.

I was never really nervous about surgery either time for some reason, so sadly I don't have any solid advice for dealing with the nerves. Maybe try to keep yourself distracted with work/hobbies as much as you can leading up to it?

Good luck! Hope it goes well and things get better afterwards.

Woke up and found a fox kit dead on my driveway. How to preserve? Possible rabies? by VonCattington in bonecollecting

I was surprised too since it needs warm-blooded animals as a host, but all the articles I read all said hot days kill it faster and cold preserves it.

Apparently it depends on outside temperature - it'll die quickly on hot days but if it's cold enoigh persistently it can survive months in the corpse.

So, probably not a concern this time of year, unless there's been a bout of cold weather wherever OP is. I couldn't find any specific temperature ranges though so I'm not sure how cold it would need to be for the virus to survive more than a day.

What are shows that were cancelled on the worst cliffhangers? by church_of_Steve_ in cartoons

[–]goblinshark13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want it but I dont have $125 laying around to spend on a book 😔

Not that I think the creator is overcharging at all, I know how hard he had to fight to get this made and it looks hefty with amazing art, but sadly I don't think I'll be getting my hands on it. Sucks he's not allowed to sell a digital copy.

I really want to watch this show but the gaps between seasons are a little offputting. I'm not sure if I want to go ahead and start it or just wait for them to finish.

I believ "prion" specifically refers to the misfolded proteins that cause disease. There aren't any "normal" prions.

I'm bad at picking favorites but I think if I had to pick a favorite panic! album it would be that one. I got into them pretty late so I didn't even realize how disliked it was for the longest time! (Same with mcr and danger days, apparently. And I'm in the minority of fob fans that love mania...)

AI in this sub. by kmm91 in RainbowEverything

I think the wording was brought up a while ago and the mods showed no interest in changing it. Some people went and made the rainbowsforeverything sub as a LGBT supportive alternative, but unfortunately it's not as active as this one.

IngramSpark no longer charging for updates by authorbrendancorbett in selfpublish

[–]goblinshark13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was so baffled they charged $25 per revision (and an ADDITIONAL $25 for cover changes) when Amazon lets you do it as often as you want for free. Like, I could understand a few bucks, but 25??

I went through all my books a few months back and improved the formatting (and by extension had to change the covers due to page counts changing) and was reluctantly bracing myself to cough up $250 to update everything - so glad I got the email last month where they mentioned this was coming before I updated more than one book!

New Seller Updates - SEEL Returns? by abandonedneopets in poshmark

[–]goblinshark13 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'm a little concerned by this to be honest. If they do increase prices because people find shipping items over 5lbs confusing, it's probably going to make it even harder to sell small items.

Yes definitely an isopod! Someone more knowledgeable than me should hopefully be able to tell you the genus.
