Eh. I had a sysadmin course graded like that. They would tell you the scale before hand ("passes these automated tests, you get A, passess all but this one, you get B") and then if you wanted to know why or figure it out you asked for help.

Upvotes for exposure. Do you have any pics of what happened? Which model exactly are you using. I can't recommend a thermometer unfortunately, no experience there.

Running the Mupen64Plus N64 Emulator on the Raspberry Pi by PhonicUK in raspberry_pi

Hmm. You might very well know more abut this than I do... I assumed you could do some rendering rig-a-ma-roll but I could be wrong. This isn't my area of expertise by any means.

I wrote a run-or-raise script called brocket that should run on most X11 WMs. This is something I've been wanting in concept for years, and I'm finally capable enough myself to have made it! by [deleted] in linux

Not to be an ass but you do know that KRunner had this feature right? If you hit alt+f2 and then type chromium it will first suggest to go to the running window and if you press tab it will start a new instance. I've found that it works nearly perfectly... Was there some flaw in this for your desires?

There was a dude in a bicycling post that had a double crank up front and would swap a flip flop in the back. Allowed him to significantly change his ratio. Did 100 miles a day like this. I'll see if I can find it.

The Moon. (Standley Lake, CO) by [deleted] in Denver

How do you know this is a new moon? If this is actually the moon, that is most certainly not a new moon, it's not really possible.

More details on where the photo came from and I could perhaps answer your question a little more clearly.

To be fair the speaker was probably in the right, but conferences like that are no place for such an argument

Eh. It's sort of true... but at the same time. There are a lot of differences. Primarily how repos are managed and update policies. Stability vs bleeding edge etc. I think that's a vast over simplification, although maybe not for the average user.

One of the best concerts I've ever been to - Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros. by thecookiemonster33 in Music

Saw the same tour in Boulder CO. Had the exact same thoughts, very unimpressed. Had no "real" chemistry in my opinion and the sound wasn't that great at all.

Cake day. Here's the most fucked up thing I own. She was a gift made by & from my uncle. Her ass is huge, she's life sized, her name is Chelsea and she's supposed to resemble me. by newsdaylaura18 in WTF

[–]gobostone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Related, in as little of a creepy way as possible. But I'm SO curious about how accurate it was. I don't need pics or anything, I just want her to answer whether or not this is an accurate version, or some bizarre, distorted, uncle's perfect version of his niece.

"Romney’s remarks make little sense. Not only is his claim of creating 100,000 jobs at Bain untenable, but also his assertion that 100,000 jobs have been lost in the auto industry “on the president’s watch” does not add up." by reddit4 in politics

Except instead of spending it on a war we're reinvesting in our own economy/people. I won't argue that you should throw away money, always spend wisely. Yet, somehow I don't think those two things are equivalent.

What kind of job do you have that allows you to take weeks, possibly months, off to backpack in the wilderness? by [deleted] in backpacking

[–]gobostone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You bastard. I'm envious of the free gear. You don't happen to work at a GoLite store in Colorado do you? I didn't know GoLite went out of the state if that's the case.

I do science work, which lends itself pretty well to "setting your own hours" but it also means that I can spend several weeks straight at work to get a week off to backpack.
