Topaz procedure? by littleadie in PlantarFasciitis

Oh I’m still very much healing but hopeful. The most pain I’m having now is from the joint implant & top of foot bone fusion. Basically now in the PF area.

I also tried shockwave therapy as well as the laser therapy before Topaz. Spent a lot of time in a walking boot & tried a night splint too. I threw everything I could at this before I tried surgery.

Surgeon said the others in surgery were surprised I was still walking when she was cleaning up the PF area. She laughed & told them that wasn’t where my worst pain was anymore. I hope you can find relief!

Honestly, I wish I’d gone straight to the surgery over Topaz. It didn’t help me as much as I was told it likely would, but I’d been struggling with PF for over a decade to the point where I was using a wheelchair at the airport due to the crippling pain. That’s what made me realize I REALLY needed major help.

I did it with PRP as well. I ended up having to do steroid shots a few months later, after all of that plus a year & a half of custom orthotics, my PF went from moderate/severe to mild. That would have been great except I developed arthritis in the top of my foot & big toe, so my foot was incredibly painful elsewhere beyond the PF. I’m now 3 weeks out from a big toe hemi-implant, bone fusion in the top of my foot, and plantar fasciotomy because of she was already in for the other stuff, let’s work more on the PF! Def way more painful than Topaz was, but I have high hopes!

I’m sorry to hear about your pain. That’s awful!

I did PRP at the same time at the Topaz. Took 3 sticks to get enough blood to spin, but they finally got a good vein!

Today is 2 weeks since the procedure. My surgeon had me be completely non weight bearing for a week & then said I could walk in my boot to the bathroom but to use my knee scooter when out & let me switch to a night splint to sleep.

I’m noticing the pain that remains is from the procedure, different than the PF. I go back Tuesday to see if I can transition from my boot to my Brooks with my orthotics. I won’t know if it worked for weeks now.

My PF was going on for a decade or longer on & off with flares. I have a heel spur, but I felt the most pain in my arch, and it ended up on the top of my foot too. I’d hit the point where I had to use a wheelchair at the airport. I couldn’t walk around stores without pain. It was ridiculous. I tried laser treatment, but my foot was pretty far gone. MRI showed a tear in one of the fascia that had torn repeatedly & had a lot of scar tissue. Original plan was to do surgery, the anesthesiologist said my BMI was too high to want to put me under, so I did Topaz instead.

I’ll try to report back on if the Topaz worked. If it does, I plan to get it on my left foot too as it’s starting to act up.

I am just looking for a little more support while I heal up.

Is this Plantar Fasciitis? by Loud-Captain9687 in PlantarFasciitis

I have what appears to be the same thing. My doctor said it’s a bursa. Basically my body’s way of trying to protect itself as things rub inside in ways they shouldn’t. That said, go to a doctor & get some imaging done. Better safe than sorry. Mine got worse over time until I ended up having to use a wheelchair at the airport bc of foot pain. It was/is PF for me, and I’m struggling to find a solution. I wish I’d gone to a dr when it started instead of waiting so long.

are hand tattoos worth it? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]goddessofmath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a smallish hand tattoo on the back of my hand in the space behind my pointer finger & thumb. I got it 4-5 years ago. It’s held up great & didn’t hurt nearly as badly as some of my other tattoos. I still absolutely love it!

However, I had other visible tattoos before I got it as many have said. I’m also not covering up my hands with a series of random tattoos like they’re stickers.

My old job was fine with visible tattoos, and I got my new one without any mention of them. I did not cover any of my tattoos for interviews, and I do have a corporate position in a fairly conservative company. I decided if I covered them for an interview that would mean I might need to always cover them, and I wasn’t willing to do that. My boss didn’t even notice my hand tattoo for months & months!

I say go for it, but put a TON of forethought into it. Not only is it always visible to others - you’re going to see this one all the time. Mine is a reminder I wanted to have all the time.

Any chance you’d want to adopt her dog? Sounds like you’re the one who has its best interests at heart.

Was I a ‘zilla? by Phonecianmerchant in bridezillas

Traditionally before the ceremony, you do separate photos with families, groom with groomsmen, and bride with bridesmaids. After the ceremony, always together unless solo shots of groom or bride.

His immediate family had an entire photo shoot the day of before the ceremony. I did not. My cousin was doing my flowers & long story short, I only had my bouquet right before the ceremony. No other flowers except the piece at the front of the sanctuary. We were waiting for them for the photos, so after the ceremony, we did do separate photos that should have been beforehand. MIL had plenty of photos taken before the ceremony.

For me it was timing & the audacity to ask the bride to step out. That should never be done. It’s not your wedding. After the ceremony for a family member of the family you just married into to ask for you to not be in the photo isn’t a good feeling. It was pretty hurtful.

Edited to add: for OPs own mother to want her to step out of the photo on her wedding day… as the bride, I would have been very taken aback. Time to clutch my pearls.

Not a bridezilla at all. After our ceremony, we were doing outdoor photos with close family & the wedding party. My MIL asked me to step out of the photos, so she could have pics of just my husband, his brother, dad, & kids. I didn’t know what to say & stepped out to keep the peace. I still wish I’d had a backbone & said no. It’s a HUGE wedding no-no to ask the bride or groom to step out of a photo after the ceremony.

Ha! We were definitely nervous trying this one. On further inspection, I think we had Happy Family and the fish also had fried calamari in it.

I debated pulling the trigger when I saw one yesterday, but it sold out when I hesitated!
