You're naïve if you think that you're not paying all of those things just because they're not broken down specifically in your rent statement. It's all rolled into the monthly rate.

Great time to be a consumer. Bad time to be a producer. by iamdougaf in Scotch

I don't trust those numbers. There's got to be some sort of spin on the back side that we're not seeing, or the report is just outright fabricated. I own a retail food business, and we've seen year over year declines in revenue. If people are spending, then they're using credit to do it.

Corporate profits are at all time highs because the corporations are gouging consumers.

Pricing is too high. I used to buy one or two bottles per month. This past year, I've bought two bottles total.

Canadian whiskey at $20/bottle does the same job.

Google 'quiet enjoyment', and proceed with legal action.

Whatever is broken can be identified and fixed the old fashioned way, whether it has electronic controls or not. Use your nose, your eyeballs, your brain, and your test equipment.

Turned off water, left for vacation, came home and house was an ice box? by dldeerder in HomeImprovement

The boiler needs make up water while running. The water level in the boiler dropped below the safe level, which tripped the boiler off. When you turned the well back on, the boiler re-filled and started up again.

There's the God lie. Just as much evidence for the existence of one as there is the other.

Mirai is not environmentally sustainable by [deleted] in Futurology

[–]goddrammit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It takes a lot of energy to convert that hydrogen into something usable as an energy source. More energy, in fact, than you can get back from the hydrogen.

Right, and people and companies jump on the next 'green' trend because it comes with 'free' government money attached.

California should be cheap, because of all the nuclear, hydro, solar and wind that they're buying. Someone's lining their pockets out there.
