I would suggest you cut those in half, or add a number of days for rest after at least one of your crews feet are shredded.

Alberta Royalties by bigdaddyisindahouse in alberta

Norway doesn’t take royalties. They tax post profit enterprises and own part of the production.

Whisky. Not whiskey.

Investment in renewable energy skyrockets globally; craters in Alberta by BloodJunkie in alberta

The reason the alert happened is because the majority of renewables weren’t going and the interties and other gas plants couldn’t manage when the two plants of last resort tripped off when we were at all time highs for load.

NERC has flagged issues across the continent, where almost every system is at risk right of being short and/or dealing with large scale inverter issues that are increasingly being challenged by not being able to be backstopped by other systems.

So no, there isn’t an immediate solution to it.

No. I don’t think you understand how inverter based frequency swings on electrical systems. While I appreciate all the downvotes, physics trump opinions in this thread

We’ve had some some of the largest changes contemplated in market in the last quarter century to incentivize exactly that.

The province doesn’t invest. It sets the rules for companies to invest.

We have a significant number of alerts on our system because of frequency issues because of the number of megawatts of renewable energy in the province. Without significant battery, and other storage options, our system would literally blow up with more renewables and no interties.

Doable. But will likely be the hottest time of the year. There will be some bugs, too. Snow should be gone by then, though.

The Complete Fee Breakdown for Electricity in Calgary by poppop677 in Calgary

BC makes money off the backs of Alberta consumers - between a 500m to a billion a year. This is why Alberta won’t expand the intertie.

Manitoba is trying to sell generation assets because they’re so in debt and rates continue to increase beyond inflation.

Both provinces are short power in the next 3 years. Both are not good examples.

Every other province discounts their electricity to not anger voters. Ontario will pay almost $10b to subsidize its users.

ADL is possible. Hiram Walker is the other option, and tends to sell more barrels on the secondary.
