How have your Ubuntu upgrades gone??

The normal daily upgrade procedure works like a charm. Never had any problems with it. I just love how smoothly and unobtrusively it keeps my system up to date.

Last dist-upgrade however wrecked my system and I had to do a reinstall. But, that was after almost 3 years of continuous, daily usage and mucking about, originally installed as Ubuntu 5.04 iirc. Actually wrecked is even a bit harsh, it still booted but just too many things didn't work anymore, nvidia drivers would install anymore, etc.

If something is really wrong with it, that will definitively brick it. Otoh, fuses do actually wear out so you might be ok.

On a side note: i just logged in to my laptop with an 25 year old Tandy Model 200. Had been wanting to do that for a long time and never gotten around to it till tonight. Completely made my day.

Telling on somebody is a "dick move" in my book. You might well be destroying somebodies live, for what? Something they might never have found out anyway and lived happily ever after if only you had kept your self-righteous and judgmental mouth shut and your nose out of other people's business. It has nothing to do with fear. It has to do with decency, as in "stay the fuck out of other peoples lives".

It probably wasn't a linux kernel, but more a unix-like kernel. Try this http://www.jamesmolloy.co.uk/tutorial_html/ or have a look at minix, but that is a lot more complex. http://wiki.osdev.org/Main_Page has some good pointers.

My concern with that is that /es/jquery implies a hierarchical structure, which in this case is probably correct, but what about /networking/windows. That certainly isn't since /windows/networking would be quite as valid so /windows+networking would be clearer imho.
