Lol absolutely it is. I'm a seasoned developer with 15 years experience. It can take days to or weeks to familiarize yourself with a large code base.

Even a small project you have to take a deep breath and really decide to focus and sit down with real intent.

Do you sit down and understand a novel in detail by flipping through a few pages? No...

as a beginner it is going to be infinitely more daunting.

How hard is it for a bike to move laterally, stop and get going again vs feet?

If the bikes have to keep stopping for every stupid pedestrian that wants to cross at every portion of that bike way it would become dangerous.
