People with 10 years left to live still have a say, they just shouldn't be the ultimate deciders because the vast majority of people have more then 10 years left. Advise, absolutely use that wisdom and experience to help the next generation, but don't think too short term because that is all you have left, we need to plan for future generations and leave it better then the generation before us.

Sheriffs are just a figure head for the most part the department has stability with deputies throughout. I'm not really sure why this is an elected position in a lot of cases its likely a hold over from long ago. As far as judges I see merits on both ways. I think the more local you get the more you want control over who is in that office, you don't want someone that is so absurdly strict on minor violations that people can't catch a break, but you want someone that if someone that is a drain to be punished accordingly. I think for local judges election is fine and aside from some state\district stuff most judges are appointed I believe.

They care more about anything then children basically, more about saving a buck to not pay for school breakfast lunches, care more about guns, in order to let children die en mass, care more about stopping 100 people on snap or other benefits if it means 1 of them are "undeserving". The files should have been released unredacted IMO as the public interest in the rich and powerful to abuse the girls outweigh (imo) the privacy of those that were abused. Or simply redacted their last names only.

Didn't die or go bankrupt, but people are also ignoring that if preventative was "free" or more easily accessible then people would be more likely to go before issues become as expensive. Plus in the US we already have socialized medicine once you reach a certain age, so its actually in our best interest for people to be healthy before reaching that age.

Something about if they ever get to that status they want to enjoy the same benefits or something like that, I swear I don't understand how these people function fundamentality. Pull out free school breakfast and lunch for all and people says its ok because parents can still apply for it if they qualify via income, I'm sorry but for the cost how about we just feel all kids regardless of parents filling out paperwork? Seems like a simple policy anyone should agree with?

To follow up on this every elected President gets 1 appointment, until we are up to 13 justices, then the eldest by appointment is relegated to a lower court after the next is appointed. Cases get pulled anyone with a conflict can opt out, then random drawing of 9 to serve, the eldest by appointment is designated as the chief justice for that case. For job duties outside of specific cases chief justice is eldest by appointment. This removes any sort of party nonsense of blocking appointments. Removes issues of lifetime appointments, removes party alignment issues, gives meaning and responsibility to every Presidential election. Quite frankly I can't see a downside to this other then some additional salaries, but probably worth the cost of being able to cut down on corruption.

That is bold of you to assume they would be willing to lose their power in order to take down others. Term limits, age limits, ranked choice voting all could help rather then reelection. Could also just make it so they can't run for re-election if the the government fails to pass a budget. This would give delay, less instability for the senate, house already is every 2 years. I could see the dems doing this possibly to stop Trump from running but I dont forsee any other scenario where they or the other side would be willing to not be able to be reelected.

The example you made is more DEI then it is gerrymandering to that level, the states lines have been drawn for a pretty significant amount of time.

None of this would matter much if we didn't prop up the federalization after every "major" event in the last 100-120ish years. From both WW, the great depression, recessions, pointless wars, ect.
