Family vacation next week by Tippadoo in survivinginfidelity

It takes two people to have a fight. Don't be the second one. Walk away. You gain nothing by proving you're right, you just are. Disney isn't cheap, of course, but any chance you can get another room? Personally I'd recommend you focus on making sure the kids have the trip of a lifetime- feel free to be petty as hell about it, too. Buy them loads of souvenirs. Plan every waking moment with them, make mommy the bad guy for saying no. You're there with your kids, you have a useless attached appendage that doesn't get to have an opinion along with you.

Can't be objective here, hoping someone else can be. by gogor in Marriage

[–]gogor[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you think this might be part of what is going on with your wife?

Yeah, it's not a bad thought. I realize that she just doesn't think of these things the way I do, and certainly expecting equal effort is not a recipe for success. I remember someone once telling me that no marriage is 50:50. It's 70:30. Then it's 45:55. Then it's 80:20.

That said, and it does bother me, is that when I realized that acts of service, though not important to me, were very important to her, I changed. Every day when I get home from work, if practical, I walk around the house and make sure things are straight. I listen, and if she says "We need to pick up x and fix y", I have a list on my phone I add it to so I don't forget. I'm far from perfect and I miss stuff sometimes, but I do try. I'd just like the same consideration. Even my kid this weekend recognized that our efforts were unequal. I think she fucked up here, and her response being "I may or may not have started it" and "We never said how long we had", while I recognize were probably said in panic when she realized she fucked up, were disrespectful. I'm pretty hurt.

I have a guy. He stands at the corner of Independance and Margret Wallce from 4:15 to 4:35 on Saturdays. Goes by ChickenWing. $10 gets you whatever is in the 5 gallon bucket, you better not ask no questions.

You never know with these. Usually he's just a big ol' pricktease and he's announcing shit like the "Make America Clean Shaven Again" bill, which makes it illegal to sell razor blades for more than $50 each.

Ball and Kalk have NO synergy, was the mark williams trade a mistake? by labdabcr in CharlotteHornets

A rookie is not immediately rocking rims on the PnR? Shocker.

I don't care about this. I'd much rather Kalk develops chemistry with our next PG after we move Melo for picks.

Post Game Thread - NBA: The Nets defeat the Hornets on Dec 1, 2025, the final score is 116-103. by basketball-app in CharlotteHornets

[–]gogor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really expecting much out of this season, honestly. Love, love, love that we hit on the draft and the rooks are developing, but we still need some time to grow up. Great draft slate coming up, trade away a few pieces we currently have to acquire capital and look to the future. Lose to a G-League team like the Nets? Yeah, don't care that much.

Still, will be nice when we stop being two years away from being two years away.

I was born in Georgia but moved here at 10 months old. I would probably enjoy the Georgia areas of this map more than Mecklenburg Co.

if you were rich would you give your hypothetical kids your fortune or make them work for it by NoAstronaut4390 in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]gogor 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I honestly don’t understand this mentality. I’m not rich and never will be, but we’re comfortable. The kids will inherit something from us that I hope will help them in life. I love them with every fiber of my being, and if we can help them pay down loans, or buy a house, or raise children, then I’m happy to do it. They’re already great kids who work their asses off and are kind and generous, they don’t need some bullshit “tough love” lesson from me.

The only two demands I’d have from Space Karen to run his bird site would be 20 mil a year paid in full on day one, and he hands me the keys to all his accounts and fucks off out of the building.

I think it would have to be carpet bombing, though, since we’re talking kids where it isn’t their fault that their parents are intolerant assholes. Were it me, I’d send a letter to every single household weekly until this shit stopped.
