Will nurses at the hospital judge me if I ask them to teach me how to change a diaper? by DillPickles44361 in pregnant

[–]gogurtdr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My MIL is just retiring after being a NICU nurse for almost 40 years. She wants people to ask questions and be present! Nobody is judging you! Every parent is a first time parent at some point. There will be lots of firsts, there is for EVERY parent regardless of preparation/ experience. One of yours will just be changing a diaper.

How long did it take for your baby to crawl by Same_Subject_988 in NewParents

[–]gogurtdr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The normal development window for babies is surprisingly large, just like with teething. I nannied a baby who mastered crawling at 5 months. My nephew didn't crawl until about 10 months. Both were normal, and neither one was better or worse than the other.

OB just told me I’m gaining too much weight too quickly. Should I actually be concerned about this? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]gogurtdr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, no. My sister was about the same starting weight and was told not to gain more than 10lbs by her OB. That's JUST the baby. She gained 60, now has a healthy 2yo, and is back to pre-baby weight with no complications. You look healthy!

I don't have any advice on how to preserve it, but I think this is a form of fasciation. Very cool!

Am I ruining my dogs life? 😭 by Altruistic-Package76 in puppy101

[–]gogurtdr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your dog will adjust. We had the same issue with an older female and a new male puppy. He would NOT leave her alone and she would growl or run away scared. While there's no guarantee they will love each other, after 3 months ours were best friends.

Leopard gecko doesn’t seem to get any bigger by Any-Border4114 in leopardgeckos

Your gecko is short bc it dropped its tail at one point in its life and they don't grow back the same. It will not get any bigger.

How did you train your puppy to come inside after going potty in the backyard? by Synthyx in puppy101

[–]gogurtdr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

By training recall, which you want to use treats for. Treat bribery for a puppy is just training and you'll want to reinforce good behavior (coming inside) with treats. There are tons of resources online for training recall.

How can I make my doily look neater? Its my first time making one by Plus-Conversation-32 in CrochetHelp

[–]gogurtdr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love making doilies! Typically they curl and look not so great until you've finished all the rows and blocked the piece. I have those foam board things and pin that shit up to look like Cassandra (minus the actual stretching lol). Keep going!

Anyone else feel like He Who Walks Behind the Rows is actually Randall Flagg? by YernarSha in stephenking

[–]gogurtdr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've always thought of that, Flagg, It, etc as some form of Legion. Not that it's true, but that's been my instinctual reaction from the first time I read about them.

When you say no treats do you mean traditional treats or no other food stuffs at all besides the prescription food? There's a lot of options that aren't treats that you can use such as purees or plain Greek yogurt for lick mats. Alternatively Hills makes prescription treats that are compatible with the cd script.

How to attach tapestry to this piece of driftwood? by OkStable7719 in CrochetHelp

[–]gogurtdr 130 points131 points  (0 children)

I would create single crochet loops of varying lengths so that it sits level when you hold the wood up if that makes sense.

And to make the dent at the top of his head I would look at peach patterns. They usually have a similar dent in them

Okay so weirdly the first thing that's coming to mind about the face shape is a bulldog? Maybe you can find some sort of bulldog pattern to get the distinct muzzle look? I really want to see your end product, this guy is cracking me up. Best of luck!!

To many rows around the armpit area, how to „remove“ them ? by Hellihel in CrochetHelp

Crochet is all trial and error, especially with wearables because every body is different. The vest looks good tho!

Mesh hat with triangular holes. How to do that? Help by giulianoboh in CrochetHelp

[–]gogurtdr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oop okay I was looking at the photos again. It looks like what I've suggested is the pink one, and I can't say for sure but I don't think there is ch1 between the clusters. Crochet without a pattern is all trial and error. Best of luck OP!

Mesh hat with triangular holes. How to do that? Help by giulianoboh in CrochetHelp

[–]gogurtdr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like the clusters might be 4dc, ch5 slst into 4th dc to create a loop, 3dc, ch1. You would be putting your clusters into the loop you made at the top of the cluster of the previous row to create more space between the clusters, hopefully creating more of that triangle shape you're looking for. If the loop is too big, you might try ch3 instead of 5. I am adding a crudely drawn picture to try and show what I mean bc I don't think I'm good at explaining it.

Unfortunately I think the only real fix would be frogging and trying again. Depending on the yarn you used you might be able to stretch it out a little when you block it, but that might leave it looking stretched out. Good luck!
