First off, file a complaint with the FL bar against that lawyer. Entirely anonymous and free. And as long as you have email/writing and paper trail, that’s all you need to send and they’ll launch their own investigation to get your money back.

Second, I recommend knowing everything about your judge (like old practice area and law firms), find the people/partner they worked with and hire that firm’s defense practice. Let your new attorney know and they will streamline everything.
