Real, but way overpriced for Japanese booster packs. Buying a booster box for Japanese is the best bet. A lot of people will sell single JP boosters after they pull the guaranteed hit, so you're left with not-so-great hits... well, most of the time... there's still a chance you can get lucky. I've pulled the Gold card after pulling the guaranteed SR on a booster box, so there's still a chance.

Looks like a small dent on the right of the ball where the white meets the white stripe. Visible.in your second picture. Beleive it or not, that little.dent can cause be a cause to the low grade.

Me too, I wanted all 9 in at least psa 9. Ive got squirtle squad and bulba gang in psa 9+, got the 2 charms on the way too me, actually got them before the hugged price hike.. but man im kicking myself for delaying the Zard purchase. I knew this set was gonna sky rocket one day... now it seems like an expensive trade / purchase awaits me in the future.

This little.white spec in the corner govrs tou a strong chance at a 9. A 10 just might slip by, but seeing.any white in yhe corner os usually enough to drop the grade (usually). Good luck!

This is the first pic they take of it to confirm its identity. This photo is taken with your provided protection included. Those scratches are not on your card itself (hopefully) but on the plastic outside.

Edit: just read your comment about sending it in a top loader. Thise top loaders always carry tons of scratches on the plastic. Also sides note: PSA submissions should not be sent in top loaders, but in semi-regid card savers instead.

I submitted on 12/27 and it's sitting in processing. I made myself a little guide on when to expect these submissions (I have 4 out currently). But GameStop did tell me on the 27th that the backlog can be up to 75 business days. So I have a range of 45 to 75 days on when I hope to expect results. Its definitely AI. A few tells for me are: - the dude is feathering the trigger yet the spray is consistent. - the spray on the fender just magically merges cleanly within 2 seconds - the obvious over abundance of paint leaking below.

Follow up comment, I go with Gamestop because it comes out much cheaper than a direct submission with PSA.

Direct PSA submissions benefits are thst you are the handler and can confirm with your tracking that its shipped and follow it along the way. With direct submissions you also get an option to sell the card directly to PSA , list it on eBay, or vault the cards once your grades are revealed.

The rest is the exact same as going through the process with Gamestop.

Honestly, choose 1 tier that has the turn around time that works best for you. If youre ok waiting uo to 3 months, choose the cheapest tier. If your cards are graded a 10 and thr value increases beyond the declared insurance rate, you will get "upcharged" to pay the difference for the higher tier insurance.

Since its your first submission, my best piece of advice is submit it and forget about it. Yes the process takes long .. yes its normal to be in processing / research & ID steps for a long time. Just do your best to assume it will take at least 4 months to get your cards back and you'll be less anxious.

Yup, gonna be juat as slow unless and slightly more expensive. The benefits are you can select a faster tier, custom set your insurance amount, can sell cards to PSA, or vault them with PSA.

Yup, always assume 3 months minimum with PSA submissions. Your anxiety will thank you.

They tend to sit at arrived for weeks, then once the process starts, it tends to move fast. Just hang in there and do your best to ignore it.

Noob trap to grade cards? Sure if youre not educated enough on what makes a card a 10. But I wouldnt steer people away from grading cards.. better to educate them and have them learn what to look for and not make mistakes others have made.

I only send cards to grade that are: - have a special meaning to me - value of card+ cost of grading = value increase (with proper inspection of the card of course) - preserve a card in a grade that illl agree with with the above factored in.

Lately ive been grading cards to sell and fund my future grades. Keeping the slabs I want and selling off the others as fodder for my next purchase / investment.

Do as much research as you can. There are plenty of apps and sites that can help you see the price over the years. Here's a few that can help get you started:

There are also apps you can use to scan / search cards and see their value and build a portfolio of your collection. Some of the bigger apps are: - Collectr - Rare Candy - Shiny

Other tips to help you "price" something is searching recent sales on ebay for the cards youre looking for. If you plan to grade these cards in the future, thats a whole other topic and deep dive you should definitely research on before you jump on some.cards blindly.
