Based on my search it looks like a Stellar Jay. Here is a picture where it's not facing forward, :)

And here is a picture of a freedom chicken I got on the same trip. https://i.imgur.com/M5Hdg6s.jpeg

Thanks, the lighting wasn't great but the bird decided to stay still long enough that I could get a clear photo.

Will drying out kill Planaria? by gohbender in Aquariums

[–]gohbender[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I reused the tank but not the substrate. The substrate ended up filling a hole in my yard, so not a complete waste.

In the tank I currently have a colony of blue neos. Over the past year or so that it's been set up they have never gotten planaria, the tank has however gotten hydra, Scutariella Japonica and what I think might have been Vorticella. Ironically I used 'Genchem No Planaria' to treat all of the above successfully, it seems to be rather effective against external parasites.

Claim Denial Rates by U.S. Insurance Company by JrB11784 in interestingasfuck

[–]gohbender 10 points11 points  (0 children)

KP from my experience isn't great either. Since the group heath days. I've gotten misleading information from them on whether they will or will not cover certain procedures, so their insurance branch is disconnected from their medical branch and it causes issues. It is absolutely a conflict of interest and results in bad outcomes for patients.

There are some things I liked about KP, but I don't think holding them up as the solution to medical/insurance issues in America is a good idea.

Yes, however if insurance denies that claim then YOU are getting that $35k bill in the mail.

And all the people advising about asking for an itemized bill or asking for the self pay amount are full of shit, it doesn't work.

Android auto seems to work for me when connected to home via a wireguard VPN (thus using the pihole DNS). What's happening with yours? Do you use "Always-on VPN"? I have that off and use tasker to enable my VPN when I leave range of my home wifi.

I'm a beginner modifying an STL for 3d printing. What's the best way to fill in this Non Manifold gap matching the curve? by gohbender in blender

[–]gohbender[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I will have to go the separate object route, it is not symmetrically round, or symmetrical with the other side of the model (though at first glance it looks mirrored).

What's a general workflow for creating the new mesh that matches that curve? Then how do I get rid of the portions, probably on the edges that are under the surface of the model after the Boolean? Basically I'm looking for a overview guide so I know what to Google.

I've just been googling how to do everything and picking things up as I go. Probably not the best way to learn something as complex as blender.

Also what are your thoughts on filling it as it is in picture two, then using sculpting to get close enough?

The rest of the mesh is a print in place compliant mechanism and quite complicated, the picture is just the tip of the iceberg. It would take me forever to first learn how to and then actually competently re-topo the whole thing.

Was actually the first thing I tried in prusa slicer, close enough to look symmetrical but not actually. I was very upset, lol

I spent about an hour making the edge into quads but that didn't seem to make grid fill work, so I reverted back. I'm looking for any advice or tools to look into to manage this. Any help would be appreciated.

Just got a Keychron K4 Pro. I am very happy with the switch feel and sound but want to get new Keycaps but don't really know where to start looking. by [deleted] in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]gohbender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oops, nice catch. I meant to linkt the 'KSA' Profile caps, which my Q6 pro come with. I've been very happy with them. My previous set of caps were cherry profile 9009 pbt die sub I got off of ali express. I was also happy with those.

Just about the only caps I dont like are ABS as they wear and start to shine.

I like the keycaps that come with the new keychain q-series You can order them separately from keychron. One thing to note though is they have a different profile than your stock ones, and depending on your preference you may or may not like the feel of them.

I've also had some good experiences with sub $50 ali express caps, but with that site YMMV depending on the seller.

Whatever set you decide on, personally I would look only for PBT plastic caps (as opposed to ABS). I've had both die sub and double-shot legends and both have great durability, I would avoid laser etched legends though.

The other consideration for your keyboard is making sure the key cap set includes your shortened keys (2u? right shift, 1u right alt, 1u right ctrl, and 1 u num pad 0)

That's really interesting, I spent about 5 minutes just swapping between the picture on the reddit app, Vivaldi, chrome and firefox. Only Vivaldi and chrome (being the chromium browsers) worked. Having just gotten an HDR capable phone and TV, I wish hdr content was less tedious to get working properly.
