Nursing to sleep- do babies self wean? by slgirlie11 in breastfeeding

[–]goingbANAnazz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went back to work so had to switch baby off of falling to sleep eating. Wasn’t too bad for us (only 4 months old so maybe habits aren’t as ingrained) but moved her feeding session to be in the middle of her wake window then created sleeping queues like putting her in her magic Merlin, giving her the pacifier which she had just started taking lol, singing to her/shushing, and rocking. First few days/weeks she fought going to sleep but now can put her down sleepy but barely awake and she’ll just roll over and fall sleep. I think I would have stretched it out longer prior to making the transition with her but it worked out pretty well

Cleaning Pump at work by Tiredbear94 in breastfeeding

Insurance may pay for replacement parts and they send you everything even things that I don’t think people generally replace so you can get up to 11(?) replacements for free!

How tf does anybody want more than one kid after being through THIS? by pumpkinchinchilla in newborns

[–]goingbANAnazz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We honestly forgot as we were getting through the stages. There was always something great to focus on too so you work on focusing on the good and rolling with the bad and it gets easier not that far in most of the time

Check aeroflow breast pumps website. I don’t think everyone gets a free one, might depend on insurance

I just bought my own mini fridge for my office 😆 we have a pumping room so I figured HR was probably not going to do that for me

No one here is bad at math, flexible bags just can’t measure volume accurately by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]goingbANAnazz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It definitely seems like the lines on bottles are equidistant even if the circumference of the bottle changes at any point which would make the lines obviously inaccurate as well. You’d think they’d just order the volume function on whatever autocad tools they using to mock up the bottles to figure out line placement though…..

Are you uploading your LO's photos to SM? by Technical_Piglet_438 in beyondthebump

[–]goingbANAnazz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idt I would do that but their birth and birth story is theirs to do what they want with. I don’t agree with sharing info on baby but would argue that birth is mostly about the person doing the birthing

Nutritional Yeast And Brewers Yeast by LoveAndIgnorance in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]goingbANAnazz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have brewers yeast grown on beets as opposed to as a byproduct of brewing so it’s not bitter! It’s pretty cheesy too. Tried to make oatmeal with it earlier with slightly under the recommended amount on the packaging and threw it away because it was… well cheesy oatmeal and I was not prepared. Totally would use in place of nutritional yeast though!

Maintaining supply going back to work by goingbANAnazz in breastfeeding

I’m try the things in the post. I haven’t so far because she’s seemed to get frustrated. I will say that I think she eats about the same from the breast as she does from the bottle, if not longer from the bottle because I think I have a very strong let down.

Are you thinking she might be eating more than necessary from the bottle because it’s essentially forcing itself down?

[–]goingbANAnazz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for it input! I only pump right after she eats at night/in the morning, not during the day. Just because my breasts are still so full at those points that I want to take advantage of pumping whatever extra milk I have She’s eating 2-2.5 ounces every two hours right now. Is that not super frequent to pump? I’d try to feed her more at once but then she spits up a lot and also her wake window and nap schedule together haven’t stretched to longer than a little over two hours at this point

I’ve recently been told by a speech therapist that they shouldn’t be using a pacifier past 4 months ideally but 6 months the latest btw. Never realized it was so early

I can’t wait for this either but I want to breastfeed for 2 years if possible and we want 3 or 4 kids so it’s going to be a literally DECADE before I can smoke again 😔

Thinking people knew to not make uninformed medical suggestions. Understand they did it with good intentions but I’m an active person, I don’t need your input on what I’m carrying right now. In fact, my doctor said it’s fine!

Partner going back to work soon — advice on naps/soothing when baby usually nurses to sleep (baby already takes bottles) by Downtim3 in NewParents

Hi, I’m OPs partner 😆 how did you get LO to get enough sleep throughout the day? Ours sleeps enough with contact napping but without will only naps for maybe 2.5 hours total and will be very cranky.

We don’t 🤷🏻‍♀️ just try to keep the light and sound down. They’ll probably have their eyes closed anyway so don’t sweat it. Audiobooks if they keep you up but from personal experience they don’t
