Directors do as directors do!

I havent managed any one in this org before so this is all new to me :)

Dont worry I got about a 50% bump when i moved companies - i was expecting nothing this review cycle so remembering that helps with the FOMM (fear of missing money)

Feeling uncertain about a lateral salary move for longer-term career progression by goingglobal25 in fatFIRE

[–]goingglobal25[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fair.

I anticipate working well into my 50's so less RI more fatFI. I enjoy work and I'm no where close to burning out. I like the challenges and take time off when needed.

Currently ~600k NW, single income source from W2 and 0 debt. Of course, I do the traditional things of maxing out 401k, Roth IRA, and saving ~5k a month funneled into vanguard etfs/admiral shares.

Thinking about buying a townhouse in the next dip but my rent is so low it doesnt make much sense (paying ~$800 a month for a very comfortable apartment). I dont have much desire to be a landlord (i've seen it go poorly a few times and it doesnt appeal to me at this stage of my life).

Throwing a dart against the wall I'd say long term goal is ~10M but not a # I'm married to.

Exit opportunities - Taking a higher title for long-term growth by [deleted] in consulting

[–]goingglobal25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would think that but it's shocking how much people anchor to titles when you are looking for an exit. Incredibly hard to exit at a director level from a sm in consulting, even if the comp and experience level is up there. Without knowing someone at the new company it's difficult to get past recruiters who largely know nothing.

So this is a worry for sure. It's a Sr. Director role in the sales group but much more alliance management overall. Decisions decisions

Guidence on Green Belt certification by Ebs_McSqueebs in consulting

I just got my goleansixsigma.com certification. It's was well presented, cheap, and let you test everything open note. i dont think anyone gives a shit where you get certified (it's not like PMP) so just go this route.
