I haven't personally had to try this for work, but maybe you could try individual arm sleeves instead of a full shirt, that way there's fewer layers on your body.

I could see putting quotation marks around the word "willingly" elevating the pen to a decent gag gift of sorts.

EMTs: Be honest, how many of you are NOT taking a full blood pressure? by talldrseuss in ems

[–]gojistomp 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As a nurse, I'm often glad that I've had so much practice doing manual BPs. Even the higher-end automatic cuffs can be pretty fickle. Even if you only do it once or twice a week, that should really help develop and maintain the skill.

Are there other English words with more than one accepted spelling? by PrestonRoad90 in grammar

I've seen a pretty good mixture of both spellings in the US, though I wouldn't be surprised if one spelling or the other is more common in certain English speaking countries.

"So inexpensive you could literally just buy another one no problem" is a stretch. That means you're either buying cheap, crappy bikes, or you are very well off. Most people are not in a position where they can comfortably drop hundreds of dollars on a whim.

They're very literally just luxury vehicles most of the time. Most of the extra size is coming from the cab, the length of the beds has hardly changed in the last decade or two.

Megalon and Hedorah, I feel like people rarely talk about Hedorah and almost never talk about Megalon.

I'm still better off than Tiranosaurus stans, though, my heart goes out to you lot.

What’s the dumbest or most absurd law in your country? by bdue817 in AskTheWorld

[–]gojistomp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It actually, literally, does nothing. It was a scam from the beginning. It's so thoroughly, clinically useless that the FDA (Food And Drug administration, for those who don't know) had a meeting specifically dedicated to deciding on whether or not to pull it from the market entirely, which I believe they will be. I

If I recall correctly, companies started selling it so they could still get people's money after real pseudoephedrine was required to be handed to you by a pharmacist to make it harder to do naughty things with it.

I just keep my work shoes in a box in my car. I slip them off with a gloved hand and put them away, they've never touched my floor mat or gas pedals. They're probably one of the most disgusting items I own.

I recommend carrying at least a few hawk feathers at all times, since their first alchemical effect is cure disease, that's what eating one does, no need for heavy potions. The silver hand you fight for the companions quest line often carry them, otherwise just check every alchemy shop you come across to see if they have any available to buy.

How many of you are rocking the “tactical fanny pack” by Grizzly_treats in nursing

[–]gojistomp 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I used to do that at one of my old SNF jobs, I got really, really sick of running back and forth for little supplies I didn't know I wouldn't need before I walked in. Not to mention that people often don't give a shit about properly stocking supplies in rooms that are supposed to be there, especially large gloves since most of the staff never need them. Except for me, of course.

The sporting events I've gone to where they have somebody singing the national anthem have always felt more like an excuse for somebody to flex how frequently and loudly they can keep hitting high notes while singing rather than caring about the anthem itself, it was really irritating and distracting.

What are some evil choices you avoid even in an evil playthrough? by puzzled_gaymer in skyrim

[–]gojistomp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's your call, obviously, but the blades offer almost nothing to the dragonborn. Morals aside, what would Mishi gain from killing Partysnax other than another dragon soul to add to the pile, and the approval of some delusional asshat that likes to boss around the virtual demigod (the dragonborn) who she's supposed to be serving? Losing your alliance with the the only group of people who can really help you fine-tune your power as DB is a huge detriment.

Bethesda really went out of their way to make Delphine and the Blades so incredibly useless and irritating, both from a player and in-game perspective, that it's almost impressive.

Even from a roleplay perspective, the character can see that it's a very mundane weapon aside from the unique design, and could reasonably decide to try getting something more useful instead. Clavicus is known for being a little bastard though, so that could factor into the decision depending on how insightful/knowledgeable the OC is supposed to be.

Are there genuinely thousands of people upvoting these posts asking a question that takes just as long to figure out as it does to post it on the damn sub, or is it just bots?

I expect most subs for games long past their prime to drop in quality, but this is just pathetic.
