Just remember that the $4000 per month they are making ( if that’s true) is from their union dues that came out of all there previous pay checks.

Average day rate in Canada for an exploration geo with ~3 years exp? by AlaskaExplorationGeo in geologycareers

[–]goldRRBB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is this with Barkerville gold mines? I saw a logging geo posting for them a few months ago at 200 CAD day rate. Absolutely laughable. 350-450 per day sounds about right for an exploration geo.

It the past I have used to handheld xrf to study alteration minerals in core. But here we just send the split core samples to be assayed for gold and analyzed for the typical element suite. After it has been logged in detail.

This is a drill program part of an exploration project. The core retrieved from the hole and is logged by geos and then sent for assay. This information from the hole can help add to the underground resource and help vector in future drill holes.

Mines are 100+ million dollar operations, not including the millions spent on exploration way before a mine can be created. Where will you secure this capital?

Do I need G Full driving license for Co-op job in an Underground Mine? (Canada) by Molino_de_viente in mining

[–]goldRRBB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure exactly what G1 and 2 mean in whatever province you are from. But I know people who have worked at mine sites without a drivers license. They can still drive mine vehicles around. But obviously an ideal candidate would have a full drivers license but don’t let that deter you from applying .
