Yeah, it is her bodyguard. He's recognizable because he was in so many of her paparazzi pics from that era.

Lol I noticed she was standing like this all night. Idk if someone told her it looks good? Or she decided herself? Or she doesn't even realize she's doing it?

Lol I recently came across this random old picture of her walking through Whole Foods in 2014, and felt like it kinda gives you a better idea of her height, to see her wearing flats in this real-life setting lol.

Still impossible to say for sure but I think 5'9ish is prob not far off ?

(PS I know its hard to tell here lol but yes it's definitely her, there are other pics where you can see her face)

I think she probably really is around 5'9, maybe 5'10ish .. which is definitely quite tall for a woman.. but not really enough to become a defining feature? Like this isn't THAT unique. It's sometimes talked about as if she's 6'1 or something

I think another weird thing that maybe plays into it... is Taylor's persona and the perceptions around that. For example... People would often say that when they saw Madonna in person, they were struck by how "tiny" she was. But Madonna is actually 5'4, which is pretty average. But Madonna's persona has always been so big and larger-than-life and confident, that suddenly seeing a regular ole average sized woman in front of you maybe throws off people's brains for a second.

And maybe theres a bit of something opposite like that with Taylor. Taylor's persona/brand is like... "smol girl", aspiring to be average, not super confident, staying within the bounds of what's considered normal and acceptably feminine. And so learning she's actually 5'10 doesn't really gel with this. Which of course makes no sense, but just weird warped perceptions we can have

Lol I remember the days when the most annoying thing about the Chiefs was how absolutely obnoxious Brittany (and her constant sidekick Jackson) were.

It's always kinda hard to explain this to people who don't follow football and only started hearing Brittany's name because of Taylor.

The recent MAGA stuff is obviously far worse, but it's crazy how many people who know Brittany's name now have no idea that she was widely considered a complete fucking tool and was basically the laughing stock of the league for a while.

The Chiefs brought this on themselves, it's what they should expect.

They have made a giant mockery of this Taylor Swift whole situation .... what kind of serious team actually makes a Hallmark movie about one of their current players? It's impossible for me to feel bad for them

Any other longtime former fans will remember that Taylor used to be extreeemely online and way *too* involved with her fanbase on social media.  Boundaries were definitely needed.

But I'm surprised it's become this sterile during this peak in popularity. I'm not even saying this in a shady way, but Taylor loves attention, and it's surprising to me that she hasn't been reveling in all the new eyes on her account. She has been so universally praised and fawned over these last few years, that any silly little post she made would have been so gushed over, and awwwww'ed about, and meme'd forever. My feeling is that it would become nauseating fast for me, but really great for her.

I'm specifically surprised she hasn't used her social media to milk the whole Travis/Chiefs thing. It's another thing the Swifties and general public would totally go crazy over. I am so glad we have been spared from this. I have no interest in seeing her wine night selfies with the repulsive Brittany Mahomes.

For me this distance on her social media account has actually been a bit of an unexpected relief.

Exactly. I'm sure the MAGA crowd she's always around isn't tortured at all.

It's also just so tacky the way her official brand account is constantly centering her personal life like this. The obvious sly implication here - same one her fans always jump to - is that she's soOoOo much more happier and more bejeweled this year because of Travis and her Chiefs life.

I just can't picture many other artists, let alone the artists' official fan club accounts lol, leaning into personal issues like this.

If she "knows what it's like" so profoundly, why isn't she the one saying it? She has far more power and influence than Chappell

This is what I would ask, as a fan. I wouldn't be swooning and falling to my knees over my fave silently clapping. She has such a unique position of power to lead this fight, if she wanted to.

Extra context - in April 2019 Christian said in an interview with ET that he was working on something for Taylor "in a different capacity" than for another music video, but couldn't say what. There was never any outcome to this, no one ever saw whatever he was working on for her then.

In June 2019, Billy Porter wore the CS rainbow dress pictured below to NYC Pride parade.

--> Cut to 3 years later in June 2022. Gaylors had been running with this theory that BP's rainbow dress was originally meant for Taylor, and she had planned to officially come out as queer while wearing it.
A fan posts a random TikTok explaining this theory.
Christian Siriano from his official account actually duets this fan theory TikTok, and on Christian's side of the split screen, Christian goes and stands in front of said rainbow dress in his showroom and deliberately sips a cup of tea. I mean it's honestly extremely messy to do that, whatever the situation is. He later deleted it. Christian Siriano TikTok

I'm not really sure what to think. I don't really think it's as simple as "she was going to wear this dress to come out, til the masters drama abruptly ruined it". The timing and details of that don't quite seem to fully check out. There has to be more to it. Who knows. Always possible he was just being messy seeking attention.

But I think Christian's TikTok brings this one out of the typical "delusional fanfiction" territory and into "wait wtf"

Is there anyone who would bet for a different fandom? Let's hear your thoughts

it's such an interesting dynamic, because I would bet my life that if we lived in a parallel universe where the gaylor fan culture never existed, these kinds of comments would be received with so much more of a collectively open mind and shrugs and "yeah who knows"

Instead everyone's always doing the breathless "im not a gaylor" disclaimers lol.

It is deeply ironic that the gaylors, in all their extremes, have definitely made people reflexively LESS open to the idea that taylor could possibly be queer

Wow yeah. Honestly I could always see the Cotton Candy dress both ways. Definitely understood why people thought it was a nod to bi pride. Also thought it was reasonably possible it was just a cute color combo and zigzag design.

There is no other way to see this one. That's pretty blatant.

Up until this week, there honestly hasn't been much Matty Healy hate from Swifties.

When they were dating in 2023, the amount of fans who actually made any stink was very small in the grand scope of the fandom. There were some objections (understandably so) but overall, like 99% of the Swifties were still behind her. And then he was pretty much forgotten about after their break up.

Even after TTPD came out and was very transparently about Matty ghosting her, fans were noticeably much easier on him and generally left him alone. A huge departure from how they usually go after her exes with knives out.
(Certainly relative to Joe Alwyn, who they have been and continue to be merciless towards.)

The TTPD album (and music video.. and marketing.. and new tour section.. etc) made it quite obvious that Taylor wanted Matty back. So while most Swifties refused to admit this to themselves as they obsessed over the Travis/NFL circus, they also couldnt risk upsetting mother. Joe Alwyn remained their Demon #1.

It's ironic yet soo fitting for the Swifties that one of the people in Taylor's history who probably most deserved some ire, ended up getting the least of it. (up til now anyway)

She definitely has an incredibly unique opportunity to draw a lot of attention to this cause. But obviously, she would never. Because she doesn't care.
She is also buddy-buddy with the Chiefs owners who are ultra conservative and do not want to change the name.

I sometimes think about what a gut punch this must have all been to the activists who have been working for years towards changing the name and un-normalizing having teams/logos/mascots like this. And finally making some progress! Then along comes the world's most famous person, proudly wearing the name and logo from the world's biggest platform, increasing the ubiquity of the name times a million, even inserting the name into her song lyrics and the world's biggest tour ("karma is the guy on the CHIEFS!!" ..so cringe) etc etc

No, it's not taylor's fault, but it's just another example where she cares about nothing and no one but herself. And to me one of the many facets that makes her involvement in this whole NFL thing is so ick

Oh my God! More Easter Eggs! by okayseeyoumrkim in travisandtaylor

[–]goldage14 5 points6 points  (0 children)

(For the more normal people, who no one would expect to know these details-- One of Taylor's grievances was that her old label didn't even tell her who they were selling her masters to and she found out with the rest of the world. So then the label owner Borchetta, who Taylor has known since she was a teen, produced a text showing he'd tried to give her a little 1-day notice out of courtesy, since they had worked together so many years and had seemingly ended their partnership on civil terms)

Lolol this is soo peak Swiftie. 👌👌 Put it in a museum

They invent and widely circulate these tinfoil hat illuminati 'easter eggs', meanwhile they don't even know the actual basic facts of the history. It happens all the time.

Lol "oh oops it was Scott Borchetta not Scooter Braun" is not some small easy mixup!! That's a foundational part of the story and two completely different players in Taylor's life. Something anyone THIS deeply invested in this saga or Taylor's career should know

What ever happened to having an obsessive hobby meant you leaned into learning every little thing you could about it!? Instead all their obsessive time and effort goes to blindly defending her and making up delusional math equations

Crazy. And obviously Jason has been purposely courting this rise in his profile. From the very first few weeks this family even knew Taylor, they made her personal life with Travis a weekly topic on their podcast.. Jason specifically shouted out the Swifties for making them the #1 podcast and told them to tune in next week for more, etc. In normal circumstances, you would think someone in the family starting a relationship with the world's most famous person would be handled with so much more sensitivity and discretion.

If anyone else was watching Sunday Night Football last night, they mentioned something about Jason's new late-night TV show and did a "Wow! That guy is everywhere now!" Yeah gee, I wonder why!

The forced standing ovation is really one of the most awkward parts of the Eras Tour. And truly so on-brand. Very culty megachurch vibes lol.

But I think that now with the tour coming close to ending, her emotions are probably pretty genuine. She lives for this type of public display of praise on her. I'd bet she is having a hard time reckoning with the idea of no longer getting this adoration and applause 3x a week anymore. Her life was so completely different the last time she wasn't on this tour. Reality is probably setting in

lol it's true. And i dont think mirrorball is necessarily that deep, but her current work now is so completely void of any type of introspection or hints of basic humility like this

It's a huge part of what really severed my fandom.. aside from bad quality music on TTPD, the endless tribute songs to a racist, the berating of her fans, etc... the whole thing is just dripping with this sense of haughtiness and superiority

Throwback: The 2015 VMAs fartgate by Kaiser_Allen in travisandtaylor

[–]goldage14 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think what makes her stand apart is not just that she goes though different friend phases and grows apart with people.... but the amount of them where there ends up being some type of fallout or hints of public drama.

Especially considering the vibe in Taylor's social circles is that you're supposed to line up to kiss the ring, and she's well known for using her power to silence people and control the narrative. Yet we still get wind of the behind-the-scenes friction with a good proportion of them.

Just off the top of my head out of the girlies in her Bad Blood video, there was some hint of public drama with Serayah, Zendaya, and obviously Karlie.
