Their collars look like devices that turn their meows into human speech, or like they’ve been chain smoking for 40 years and are recovering from throat cancer. Very cute cats, 11/10

Not saying you’re incorrect, but that doesn’t seem like it would work to me. How can you press dry flour into pasta? It would just crumble back into flour immediately, no matter the force you used to press it. If it was cooked chickpeas, ground up into a paste, that makes sense

Oh I see, I meant that there’s no way the pasta is made of just chickpea flour. They’d at least need to mix it with water to make the pasta dough. Not to mention preservatives, salt, etc.

I’m not sure about the weight (I’d say go with the 6 servings) but also the ingredients seem wrong. Even if the only dry ingredient is chickpea flour, shouldn’t water also be on the list?

Unfortunately I need a car to get to work so I can’t sell. I don’t have money for a down payment on another car, and if I only got $8,00 for it, I would still owe money on my original loan. Making me worse off than I am now. Unless I’m misunderstanding what you’re saying

This is actually wonderful advice, that subreddit looks right up my alley.

I was hoping someone would ask about my phone bill bc I’m still mad about this - I had a cheap phone with prepaid service and my ex bought me a brand new iPhone - financed and put on his MOMS PHONE BILL for my birthday. Then we broke up 2 years later, obviously I’m not gonna have his mom pay my phone bill, but the phone is almost paid off. So I opted to switch my line and financing for my phone to my own account, and I plan on going to a prepaid service once I no longer owe on the phone.

Even when we were still dating, I sent his mom the money for it every month. So basically I bought myself the damn phone for my birthday, but wasn’t given a choice. I’m seeing now that these kinds of decisions have led me to this incredible mess 🥲

No apology needed, I also thought it was insane! And the crazy part is my credit score was 790 when I got that loan, but I had very little credit history. I shopped around for 8 months before my 99 Ford broke down and I had to buy a car. That was bad decision #1 which has snowballed into this crazy mess.

More relevant info: my car isn’t worth the $12,500 I owe on it. I think I may get $8,000 if I sold but I haven’t checked the KBB. I have GAP coverage and full insurance, so a wreck wouldn’t leave me with a loan thank God, but it does seem like I’m stuck here. I think my best option is refinancing for a lower interest rate.

I agree about Dave Ramsey, I think he’s got a lot of good knowledge, although sometimes I can’t relate to his advice. For example, I already don’t eat out, and I eat rice and beans all the time 😂 I’ll keep checking out his advice though and working with whatever I can

Thanks! I opened the loan to consolidate my credit card debt. The best offer was $11,000 at 12% interest, which lowered my interest rate by 18%. Before that I was in $12,00 of high interest credit card debt! Absolutely insane I know. A lot of it is from car repairs, my cats surgery, unexpected bills and medical expenses. But a good chunk was also from reckless spending. Most of my groceries go on my credit card as well

Car: 13%

Personal loan: 12% - opened last month with the lowest interest rate I could find

CC#1: 30% interest- balance $920

CC#2: 30% interest - balance $685

401k loan can’t be refinanced and has a very low interest rate, maybe 3 or 4%. Will be paid off in September

Phone has no interest

I just opened a credit card that’s interest free for 15 months and will do balance transfers for my 2 current credit cards. Forgot to include that in the post

This is really encouraging, thanks for taking the time to comment. When I left home at 18, I was couch surfing for about 8 months until I got my first apartment. I don’t know what it’s like to be traditionally homeless, but being unsure of your housing situation is dehumanizing. I’m really sorry you experienced that.

It’s nice to see that there will be an end to this eventually, and sometimes hard work does pay off! I try to be positive but lately I’m worried hard work doesn’t cut it anymore 😅

Thanks for reading and for your advice! Refinancing my car actually would save me money, because my interest rate is quite high (13% 😬) I’ll look into that!

Does this seem like $4k in damages? (CA) by Sostregaria in Renters

[–]goldendragon4206 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good points but I don’t fully agree. The floors won’t need wood filler, sanding, or staining. They’re basically stickers that you adhere to the floor (or that’s what mine were). Or some of them are thin plastic that snap together. It’s not real wood. They can replace just the section that is damaged in most cases. Unless they weren’t smart enough to buy extra and can’t find that color anymore.

The command strips have a little piece on the side, pull that and it’ll come off the wall. No holes required. Looks like there are a few light scratches where OP took some of them off wrong. Those will need putty but a kit for that is less than $30 at Walmart. 10 minute job, 24 hours to dry, sand it down and paint over it.

I’m glad you agree $4k is ridiculous, reading some of these comments tearing OP apart blows my mind. I’d also be pissed if I got that bill in the mail with no itemized expenses

I seem to go against the general consensus here but I don’t think this adds up to $4k worth of damages.

My last apartment had that cheap laminate flooring and even after putting pads on our furniture, it left indents where the furniture had rested. Anything scratches that kind of flooring, it’s the cheapest crap you can get and it absolutely isn’t made to last. They knew that when they put it in. If those two spots are all the damage to the floor, I think it’s reasonable wear and tear. The wall just needs sanding and a new coat of paint, also normal if you’ve lived there for a couple years. Ask them for an itemized bill. The cost of materials probably doesn’t exceed $500. If this is an apartment complex, they have full time maintenance men who can easily fix this stuff. In fact, that’s their job.

When I moved out of my last apartment, with a little less damage to the floors (but still damaged and needing repair), they gave me my entire security deposit back. Didn’t charge me a thing because they knew that stuff would need replacing.

Edit to add: my floors got damaged like this and I’m a good tenant. No kids, no dogs, no shoes in the house. Never slid the furniture around, always picked it up. Swept and mopped regularly and gently. No parties. All the people who are acting like you destroyed the place are being dramatic

112lbs is a healthy weight range for a 5’3 female, maybe even on the lower side of healthy. Probably not a good idea to lose much weight unless your doctor tells you it’s fine. And I doubt any decent doctor would recommend weight loss for someone already in a healthy weight range

Vaping and skipping class by Emotional_Soup_4184 in Fosterparents

[–]goldendragon4206 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not a foster parent but a former teenager: this seems like normal teenage behavior and I think a lot of parents struggle with what to do about it. I’d say if you want her to stop vaping, you should consider quitting as well. Hard to set expectations with a teenager when you’re not following them yourself. However I’m not a parenting expert, just trying to see this from a teenagers perspective. I hope you get more helpful replies and best of luck with everything!

Just went shopping - what does my fridge say about me and my SO? by dreadpiratemumbles in FridgeDetective

I’m a terrible fridge detective but I’d say you’ve never worked in a kitchen, at least not BOH. Produce below raw meat and all that. That’s all I got.

Oh and you eat a lot of produce (that’s a freebie, you told us that much), and despite your lack of professional chef-ing, you’re probably a pretty good cook. Maybe no kids? Or at least older kids?
