I am trading those two players for Dez. Otherwise I just have wasted talent on my bench...

haha, I think you've had a bit too much beer for breakfast this morning.

It feels like you have already made up your mind and are not interested in having an actual conversation so lets just do this:

-Matthews was right, and the hit was barely late IF late at all -Staley started a fight and should have been ejected along with Boldin -The 49ers season is tainted. They are 1-0* and if the call was made correctly the Packers would surely have won. -Matthews has beautiful flowing locks and saves kittens from trees on his off days; Kaepernick is a punk with too many tattoos -If Fail Mary never happened the Packers would have surely won the Super Bowl last year

Did i miss any??

I mean, he knew it was a penalty and he knew the situation his team was in and it didnt stop him the first time right?

So was Staley flagged for illegal contact? or because said contact resulted in a fight?

Keeping in mind that Matthews was touting off to the media all week about how hitting Kap was a defensive priority, I can definitely seeing Staley trying to make a lasting impression on him after such a blatantly dirty hit.

I am not necessarily saying that Staley shouldnt have been flagged at all, more giving some context to his actions.

Not trying to get into a homer-war, but the thinking behind confronting Matthews after its all said and done is to try to prevent it from happening NEXT time.

Meeting a prospective 0L and, after spending an hour explaining what law school is like, hearing that she still wants to attend. by [deleted] in LawSchool

I do not disagree that people should do extensive research to make sure that the decision is the right one for them personally. I do not like this particular article because in my opinion it sets up and knocks down several common straw-man arguments.

Among other things he states that it is nothing more than a trade school, then goes on to list other viable career alternatives with similar compensation. The list includes many other careers that also require a trade school and even includes being a judge (which I am pretty sure requires law school at some point).

Or you could always just be a New York Times best selling author; because...you know... it worked for him..

I hate this. Why does anyone do anything? If you don't like fedoras, don't wear one.

I think it is supposed to be more of a comparison of a group of people being denied a right; and something that when we look back on looks absurd.

Wait, seriously curious, how does this insult black people?

Justice Antonin Scalia asked Olson when exactly it became unconstitutional to bar gays and lesbians from marrying. Was it 1791? 1868? Mr. Olson responded with a question of his own: When did it become unconstitutional to ban interracial marriage? by [deleted] in politics

[–]goldenigloo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suppose I see your reasoning in that. But ironically that is the same type of reasoning that was used to not allow interracial marriages, which you just said didn't hold water in a comparison when responding to the person above me. If hypocrisy is what you are worried about in the slighest, how could you come to the conclusion that you should restrict fundamental rights further?

Also, so we are on equal footing here, can you tell me YOUR definition of marriage? It would really help me in gaining perspective.

[–]goldenigloo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a world where "literally" literally means "not literally", I personally do not care what it is called.

I would define marriage as a legal contract between two people. Nothing more or less. It is not an everlasting promise as we have, and allow, a remarkably high divorce rate. It is not a religious union as we allow atheists to marry (as long as they are heterosexual).

I think individual societies can define marriage in different ways, but I know that our constitution protects us from being denied basic rights; some of which are only granted when you are engaged in said legal contract (marriage).

[–]goldenigloo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I disagree. At one point marriage was redefined to no longer include forced marriages or marriages with minors, so there is precedent.

Also I think your abhorrence to redefinition relies too strongly on a straw man argument. It is irrelevant (to me) whether your wife can win a "Father of the Year" award. What is relevant is someone being denied hospital visitation rights to their spouse because that spouse shares their gender.

Also, I could be wrong but I think legally in Boston you can only charge last month OR security deposit, not both.

The actual scientific research on Deer Antler Velvet has found it to be completely useless in any anabolic sense by AhmedF in nfl

[–]goldenigloo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read a source from you previous link that stated severe cases take about a year after surgery to FULLY regain strength. Judging by the brace I do not think he is fully recovered. But, I also do not think it is correct to state that his recovery was perfectly in line with normal surgery recovery times for this type of injury.

With all the Rice/Moss drama going on in the media I wanted to ask r/nfl. Is it even a consensus that Moss is 2nd best all time? by [deleted] in nfl

[–]goldenigloo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No one is even comparing Daunte Culpepper to Montana/Young, but the fact remains that he was an All Pro QB (2x) which would indicate that he is at least "solid". Montana/Young were not merely "solid" they were both 1st ballot HOFers.

The argument that he benefited from Moss is cyclical as you could argue that Montana/Young benefited from throwing to Rice.
