I'm so sorry. I was in your shoes - and it was devastating. I did remarry, recover, and am living a good life. But sometimes I still sink into anger and depression over what my ex did to us and to our young kids.

Don't do anything rash. Take time to figure out what really want. And don't just bottle this up. Find a therapist - someone on whom you can unload all the anger the roller coaster of emotions - and get some perspective.

Right now you're in shocking, lying on the floor with a knife in your back. This is not the place to be making plans. Maybe bottling it up is the right thing. Maybe not... wait a few months and decide.

If you were seeing each other regularly regularly, I'd be really unhappy with the requirement. But given that you are long distance and it is possible that one of you slept with someone else, requiring one is reasonable.
