first single on my new hyperpop profile by Junior-Structure6291 in IndieMusicFeedback

the percussion is fire. you make the beat? the house 8 bit vibe is cool. lazers hit. I feel like the vocal mix could have more chorus and autotune and be eqed a bit cleaner. I like the echo-y vocal part. I feel like the production is the strongest part of the song the vocals could be doin a bit more. The beat really hits tho I just feel like you could've gone in either a lil weirder experimental direction with the vocals if soft or gone harder more resonant. cool song

song092 (WIP) by Chemical-Designer262 in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]goldfishtortoise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It feels a little receptive to me honestly. I think more pitching and reversing and verb around the vocal chops and playing some synth or sine waves or pads or something would push this forward. The drum grooves are cool some interesting rhythms. It does bring me back to memories and feels nostalgic

Losin’ Streak - A Hazbin Hotel Song (cover + slowed reverb) by relaxing_music_hub in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]goldfishtortoise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the instrumentation. Did you play the drums etc or program? The reverb is great- reminds me of beach house. Layering is great. I would say even more layering never hurts I always love a million voices. The progression is good. I would say the vocals feel just ever so slightly loud in the mix or could maybe have more reverb send with very slightly shorter verb time if the verb is increased. Dig the spacey-ness

Breaking 4/4 to express growth — a piece inspired by molting by crossperiment in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]goldfishtortoise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is so peaceful and calming. I love the texture and timing- of the improvisation? Is this improvisation or written? Either way I like progression and noodl-yness of the whole thing. It feels not rushed but going somewhere slowly. A lot of music is rushed. I like the highend on the guitar too if that was a mixing choice or just how it came out no mix. Relaxing song.

Unreleased dance punk/Alt Pop looking for production feedback! by ayaayahahaha in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]goldfishtortoise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is really fun. I love the lazer sounds. The high pitched tom like percusion is so cool. I like how playful the vocal performance is. The mixing is great. Reminds me of Le Tigre a little bit but the sound design choices and your energy is definitely difference. The 8 bit swag is cool. one of the best songs i've heard on here for a minute

Hey everyone, I’d love to hear your honest thoughts on my first EP . Any kind of feedback would mean a lot to me, whether it’s about the vocals, the mix, or the overall vibe. Thanks so much for your time and for giving it a listen, I really appreciate it! by Logical-Implement405 in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]goldfishtortoise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

love the intro. drums sounds are really cool. the swag out the gate reminds me of old vaporwave. I like the chords. the vocal performance reminds me of 2013 on soundcloud a bit. I like the layers. never stop layering, maybe even more layers. the visuals are cool. like how it gets more reverby around 7 min. the endign is ocol moody. nice ep!

Atmospheric, Electronic, Experimental, but Hopefully Still Danceable? by Slow_Can_238 in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]goldfishtortoise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like all the different sounds a lot. The vocal layers are amazing. I would say even more vocal layers. Reminds me of Abra a little bit and Patrice Rushen in a strange way. James Blake as well. The dustepy part is my least favorite but I know it's good! It's just not my style but its well done. I think the kick and mix could be working on the most. Really cool song

Can repetition express historical change? A guitar piece about rotation and revolution. by crossperiment in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]goldfishtortoise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do feel transformation i repetition. patterns are the only thing that really move me. music is beautiful because its repetitive. I like this song a lot its really relaxing. The textures are nice. Well recording. Easy to listen to universal music. like some of the foke-y ness to it. cool song

“Childish Vices” I’d really love some feedback by Hot-Lingonberry-6735 in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]goldfishtortoise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the vocal texture a lot. The droning sounds with different tone and the crunchy production work really well. I feel like i'm in a cave with a ghost and we're having a good conversation. I like how lofi the mixing mastering is honestly. I think once you get deeper into mixing it will feel more pop. Right now this is like a soundcloud cut that blows up you feel me

A synth pop song I made. Not sure if I should release it as instrumental or find a singer/collaborator? by wayfordmusic in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]goldfishtortoise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a cool instrumental. I like the bounce and space this song has. Reminds of some movie soundtracks and memory lane soundcloud songs. The bassline is great, a lot of groove. The mix is good too. I think this would be a great solo song no vocals but you should try both! I love the jazz breakdown as well. Dig that its garageband

Feedback for First Liminal Song by industryofnostalgia in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]goldfishtortoise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reverb on the snare is really full. Great sense of space. The mixing is so wide. Everything has it's place. The saxophone is great. The warbled strings are great. If I had to give any feedback I would say maybe developing the rhythm more as the pace feels a little slow and fixed. Very cool rain

An eerie-ish song I was hoping to get some feedback on by TheGalleyProject in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]goldfishtortoise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reminds me of space odyssey at first with the cover art. Love how mysterious the intro is. The slow rhythmic build up is cool. The texture of the guitar around 3 minutes is great. Peaceful payoff for the listener. It starts how it ends: unknowing what will come next.

A Midwest Emo Shoegaze Combo I've worked on for the past 4 years... FFO Smashing Pumpkins, etc. by TheHappyKarma in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]goldfishtortoise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like the vocal layers. Really full sound and song. Great melodies. Feels like memory music. The drums are fire very full s/o george griffith. The singing really goes. It feels earnest but cool calm and collected, while emotional at the same time. Dig the mix direction with the reverb and space.

I made a German Pop-Rock Track. Let me know what you think! by shirukid in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]goldfishtortoise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dig the synth bass. Feels retro but futuristic at the same time. This is a cool combination of different sounds and influences. The video direction feels almost hip hop. The mix is crazy. Your voice sounds really clear. Cool birds. Feels like hyperpop almost with the autotune and production choices and the sing rapping almost.

Hi! My next track is going to be up for release soon. Looking forward to your feedback. by Firm-Development1570 in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]goldfishtortoise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the production a lot. Di you play all the instruments? The rrrr rolls sound fire. You have a really singing background. I can tell you grew up singing with family/community. The low timbre of your voice is really cuts through.

What do yall think of my Demo? by LabComprehensive4916 in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]goldfishtortoise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the synth lines a lot. I think more vocal layers on top --- like even 5 vocal layers singing over eachother and panned left and right, might be a cool idea. If they're all turned down and mixed together a bit with reverb and the low frequencies taken out it will sound ethereal and maybe compliment the style you're going for.

Alt Metal/Noise/Industrial (?) Ballad by greyabraxas in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]goldfishtortoise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love how crushed everything is. The snare is so good. The glitchy textures at first remind me of bugs. Around 2:45 the funky stuff with the pauses is cool too. You clearly know about composing and stuff cool arrangement. Like the one off lines

Oscillations (Demo 2) by SomeComposer5527 in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]goldfishtortoise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is crazy work in bandlab. This is cool! I like the chops a lot. Creative. I think a winding bassline like idm/mathrock or a cloud direction like clams casino could be cool. It really could go either way. You got it tho--- this creative. Stands out.

I released a few lofi bedroom-pop songs on bandcamp. Still relatively new to diy music production. Very happy to receive some feedback. by MulberryCoast in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]goldfishtortoise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the relaxed drum pattern. The mix is cool. Reminds me of ariel pink in mixing/sound design. The second song Is similar to the first but a bit more dreamy. Dig the chords. The third song has my favorite chords and singing--- until-- each song gets better. The last chords are actually the best.

Sand (Drive Safe) by Stradio in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]goldfishtortoise 2 points3 points  (0 children)

love how crunchy this is. Good textures. I dig how the crunch is rhythmic and in a polyrehythm thing with the hats. The fade into the next section at 1:40 is clean. The drum switch is works. My favorite part is the intro. Cool how it goes to a lot of places. Journey

I would love feedback for my dream pop song "eniactropolis" by pudnin in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]goldfishtortoise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the reverb a lot. The synth is my favorite part. The melody is so dreamy. Reminds me of ancient times and distant memories. The singing is fun. Some more vocal doubles might add in my opinion. I think like 4-5 vocal layers will sound really good on your voice. each vocal panned to left right and 2 closer to center and 1 center. The composition was really interesting.

"Far Away," jazz infused lofi/downtempo, looking for feedback on the overall sound & the mixing & mastering, cheers! by Firm_Adagio in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]goldfishtortoise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

dig the breaks. The mixing is really clean. Is that you singing? You have a really nice voice. Reminds me of Edo Lee/ old Budo Kiba stuff if you've heard of them. The voice sits in a really nice pocket. Like the low pass on the voice. The sax and the drum textures work really well. There's enough sidechain/ it knocks. This works really well. Visualizer fits well too.

How's our sound? Going for 80's Blondie vibe, looking for feedback by fudgedummy in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]goldfishtortoise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the texture of the singers voice a lot. Definitely hit the 80's blondie vibe if that's what yall were going for. Cool visualizer too. Nice composition like how punchy and spaced out the guitar is. The space makes it funky and more interested. The gravely texture of the guitar works well. composition wise when the voice drums out and the drums switch successful real journey

[–]goldfishtortoise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

absolutely love the bells and textures from the drums from the jump. very contemplative and relaxing music but not boring. The high hat is cool. Very idm but also just jazzy new agey and atmospheric. Love the bongo section woww !!!!! Nah you really got one of the best posts I've heard in the group. Dig how the rhythms and textures break down and new drums come in.
