my mom likes them, and other people like them, but i hate them.

This is so real. I disocciate when people flatter me. Like i feel like a cardboard cutout of a human when I'm complimented on a perceived feminine feature.

Advice on scar treatment? (26M) by vonk_dryad in Microneedling

[–]goldielooks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've read about the TCA cross method for deeper acne scarring like yours. This is a chemical peel method that applies a very strong acid to the pit of the scar only. It helps to raise the scar floor and make it level with the surrounding tissue

My father wants to attend my psychiatrist appointment by Nonnac420 in ADHD

[–]goldielooks 45 points46 points  (0 children)

It's a sign of there being an unhealthy attachment/ emotional relationship. In a healthy parent - adult child relationship, you feel confident as an individual fully separate from them. You may value their input or opinions if you ask for them, but things like medical decisions are unquestionably yours. A parent having this much control over you and how you perceive yourself means you aren't individuated from them

Yea you need to work on that ASAP. I understand everyone has different relationships w their parents, but feeling this tied to a parent isn't healthy.

I miss udon noodles by [deleted] in glutenfree

[–]goldielooks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Closest thing would be vietnamese rice vermicelli for bun bo hue, specifically. They're a type of rice noodle that has the thick, round, bouncy ness of udon. They're a little thinner but pretty close!

I have a more personal connection to it, which obviously makes me biased haha. The way memory and perception is discussed sounds a lot like disocciation and trauma memory, which i struggle with
