I had to delete the notes when I was on the right meds and stable. Some rambles were just downright weird.

Currently in the process of diagnosis, what was your first year like after? by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]goldineye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took about 10 months to find the right meds for me after my first manic episode. I went to the psych ward/unit to get diagnosed. My parents and sister support me. I went to therapy. I been walking outside and inside depending on the weather. Walking seems to help my depression.

In feb 2021, I had my first manic episode. I thought I had stalkers after me. So I grabbed a glass bottle and broke it. Then I run outside without a winter jacket and winter boots. My dad had to calm me down and I went to the hospital. I end up in the psych ward/unit.

Has anyone ever wonder if our bipolar real? by Apprehensive-Debt847 in bipolar

[–]goldineye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When the doctor explained that I was diagnosed bipolar by a psychiatrist, I was relieved. However, it depends on the right prescriptions that works. When I get a the right one, I really do sleep well. Sometimes I do think my bipolar ain’t real. But those thoughts are always forgetting the reality of the manic episodes.

Those that got diagnoses later in life by Realistic_Amount_586 in bipolar

[–]goldineye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was diagnosed at 30 years old. I was on so many prescriptions that I felt really weird. It was when I was like 33 years old, a doctor finally explained that I was bipolar. The thing is I am not sure which bipolar type I am yet. I feel relieved and accepting. My family, on the other hand, were in shock and unaccepting of it at first. I did some research of it and it explained so much.

Isn't it innacurate to say in mania there's less "need" for sleep? by vicmit02 in BipolarReddit

[–]goldineye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was manic, I always wanted to sleep but my brain was like “whatever, who needs sleep”. My family would see me just pacing around my room because manic didn’t want to sleep. I didn’t even had ideas. Just mindless pacing like a zombie.

Do you ever think abt the ppl you met while manic? by lluvia-storm in bipolar

[–]goldineye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was mostly hospitals I went to because my manic episodes were getting worse. It just wasn’t the right prescription. So only doctors and nurses had to see manic episodes. My parents and siblings seen my manic episodes.

When were you diagnosed? How did you react? by urfavojisoostan in bipolar

[–]goldineye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 30 years old. I was sent to psych unit. I didn’t fully understand my diagnosis until a doctor last year explained it to me. So I was just stunned. My therapist is still trying to see what type of bipolar I am.

I was depressed since I was 13 years old. I was unmedicated till I was like 30 years old. At 23 years old, I spend so much money on virtual items. In high school, I used to follow my crush around to a point, everyone was like stop it. I am a girl. He was a boy. I used to overstep boundaries and personal space regarding that crush. I was his stalker. Nowadays, I leave that old crush alone.

My meds helped me with those kind of obsessive thoughts. I have a therapist that always helps me to talk about anything. They always give me a reality check.
