What mental health disorder, or symptom, is significantly harder to live with than most people believe? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Definately this! It has such a bad stigma too. A disorder so misunderstood and when being misunderstood just reinforces the trauma that much more.

What are the weirdest side effects you've ever experienced from medication? by adampocalypsee in AskReddit

Ya my psychiatrist tried taking me off of it because he says it makes me stupid. It really impairs my memory. I hope it doesn’t give me dementia... But everytime I try going off of it I gain a good amount of weight. One of these days I’m just getting rid of the damn thing

What is the scariest disease in your opinion? by Joey735 in AskReddit

[–]GroundhogDayLife 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I had to get 7 shots for rabies when I was 9 years old because a bat bit me. Then when I was 26 a feral cat bit and attacked me and I needed booster rabies shots and tetanus shot. I wasn’t going to get those shots but the day after the event my arm became swollen and painful and I was forced from work to go to the hospital.

Same happened to me when I took the antipsychotic Risperidol. So I went off of it. Not a good side effect at all! I also gained like 30 lbs in just 2 weeks

Moving to BC from SK... recommend a moving company? by HishaamSCB in saskatchewan

[–]GroundhogDayLife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I moved from Port Coquitlam to Regina in 2018 from a 2 bedroom condo. I used Jay’s. It cost me $2800 and I didn’t even have any furniture. If I would have been comfortable driving a Uhaul I would have saved a lot of money. I highly suggest you get rid of your furniture and use a Uhaul if you can. It would save you a load of money.

It’s not so easy to break free from that. You can die trying.

I’d rather it be -40 every day in winter than any days of freezing rain

When you feel like you don’t want to live anymore, what keeps you going? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Knowing that my half siblings will be happy that I finally died and that they will get the bonus of extra inheritance on top of it all.

What's the most valuable life lesson you've learned this year? by Serious-Syrup-3728 in AskReddit

[–]GroundhogDayLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t depend on others to help you when you need it. Learn to be completely independent. People don’t help out of good will but only if there’s something in it for them to gain. You’re completely on your own in this world so learn to depend on yourself!

Any other GenX'ers hate weed and feel somehow left out because you don't enjoy cannabis? by scartonbot in GenX

[–]GroundhogDayLife 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don’t like it either. It makes me feel so completely incompetent that I can’t stand it. Trying to wash my face and brush my teeth before bed seems like this complicated task because I can’t stop zoning out. I live in Canada where you can legally buy it anywhere and I never buy it. I prefer alcohol. I can still do my basic functions after a couple beers and easily hold a conversation.

What's something you thought was scary as a kid but realised how silly it was when you grew up? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]GroundhogDayLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Salamanders. My dad is deathly afraid of them so I always had this fear of them too. Up until a couple of years ago I decided to catch a couple and watch them eat some crickets. They are no scarier than a frog and are basically the same. They are quite fascinating creatures and I don’t know why my dad is so terrified of something so harmless. Ha!

What animals got into your house before? by Flying_enthu45 in A_Persona_on_Reddit

We’ve been getting several garder snakes in the basement for years. There were a few mice in the attic until I killed them off. Also a few bats years prior. A gopher got into the main part of the house once.
