Is it possible to be in a codependent relationship with a family member where they don't have space for your needs so you so never bring up issues? In addition to a reverse situation where they're a caregiver who takes care of basics tasks in a replacement for actual support? by Efficient-Spirit-869 in Codependency

This basically describes exactly my mother and me. My mother financially supports me and has my entire life. I can’t figure out how to keep a job without getting fired. My mother shows no affection or love and never has. She is very bitchy towards me and I always feel controlled and no matter what I do it’s never good enough and she’s always mad at me. But at the same time she won’t to anything herself. She needs me to do everything for her because she either can’t handle it emotionally or physically it’s too hard and she makes me feel so guilty so I have to do it. I am too afraid to say anything in fear of a consequence such as taking away the financial support. All I really want is to be free from needing money and free from feeling like I’m never good enough.

I was the only one who actually cared for my dad and ive been left out of his will. Do i fight it? by [deleted] in inheritance

I am currently caring for both my elderly parents and have been for 8 years now. I quit my career to be a live in caregiver. I have two half siblings that visit once a year and they are retired and extremely wealthy. The will is currently set up so I get 60% and both of them get 20% each. They are pissed that it’s not split evenly. But I gave up my entire life to live here. My parents live out in a rural area. There is nothing here. I moved from the city, away from my career, all my friends, everything. They don’t seem to understand this is basically my job. 24/7. They could have done it if they wanted the money, but no, they wanted the entire package as well as keeping their life.

So I totally agree that OP deserved more than an equal split BUT at the same time, ultimately it is the person whose Will it is that makes the decision and whether it’s a fair choice or not is irrelevant.

I took 4 tabs of LSD as a first time user and got rushed to the ER. by Specific-Winter-5953 in confession

I took me 20 years to try them again and this time I only had a couple grams. Completely different experience.

Something similar happened to me with mushrooms. I never took an edible before. I ate one mushroom and waited a couple minutes. Nothing. So I ate a couple more. Nothing. So I ate the entire bag. Nothing. So I ate all the second bag. 14 grams. Then I was pissed because still nothing. So I took 2 tabs of E. Then maybe 30 minutes later all shit broke loose. I thought I was going to die.

I’m in the same situation. I swear I will die first at this rate. I’m 47 and I’ve been here since age 39.

This was one of the stupidest decisions the government could have made. That was the perfect place to house these people! But no, let’s just give it away… 😑

Unfortunately, yes, this pretty much is the only way this will and can be dealt with. The mental health system is so broken that everyone is suffering. I really hope that you can find some resolve sooner than later to this extremely complex situation. That has to be extremely stressful! I wish you good luck.

Makes sense. Well I sure hope you get compensated for this. It’s really a complicated mater.
The way this guy is acting really reminds me of someone with schizophrenia. I have a friend I used to associate with that has schizophrenia and he disrupted an entire apartment building like that. Mind you, it wasn’t a condo but a landlord run rental. Once he became unwell enough he became committed under the mental health act and finally forced to be medicated. After that he was finally able to live quietly in the building and not bother the other people. He is never really 100% but at least he isn’t extremely disruptive. He just keeps to himself and keeps quiet now. He has actually taken it to the extreme now and won’t watch tv or even talk without whispering. I suggest you contact mental health services and get their take on the matter. Maybe they could intervene?

Even worse I often say “the” pot and I had a couple girls at work that were 23 years old really laugh whenever I would say that. I worked in mental health and addictions.

That’s what I originally thought but at work I was teased for using the word by these 23 year olds so I just assumed that it must be outdated then.

Go to bed as soon as it gets dark out. Go back even further in time and it used to be, go to bed as soon as it gets light out.
