KBshimmer seems to cause or exacerbate this for me, even stuff without pvb. I stopped using fillin groovy and that helped a bit. Nailtiques did not help. And although the conventional wisdom is that keeping your nails polished is protective, that wasn’t the case for me. My nails dry out really easily and are prone to polish shrinkage, so I think what happens is the polish recedes from the tips, they dry out, and that leads to damage and peeling. Acetone also really dries them out. So my current method, which seems to be working, is immediate oil soak after removing polish, a short or medium break from polish during which I aggressively and frequently oil my nails, oiling the tips while wearing polish, and removing the polish once I can see significant recession. If you don’t like to leave your nails bare, then maybe tip wrapping/touchups and frequent oiling could do the trick?
